Position Overview
The Technical Engineer collaborates with the sales and project teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions in line with current type-tested product offerings. This role reviews technical drawing submissions from the mechanical engineering team, supports standardized engineering documentation, coordinates cross-plant problem-solving, and assists project teams in preparing Busbar package design drawings and documentation for different plants.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Solutions & Sales Collaboration
- Collaborate with the sales and project teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions in line with type-tested product offerings
- Work with the sales team, project management, and customers to prepare design models for new projects
- Attend meetings with customers, contractors, and consultants for technical discussions
Drawing Review & Documentation
- Provide input and review technical drawing submissions from the mechanical engineering team before issuing to customers and releasing to production
- Assist in the development and release of standardized engineering documentation such as drawings and BOMs
- Prepare shop drawings and other related documents for production
Cross-Plant Coordination & Process Improvement
- Coordinate cross-plant problem-solving teams to improve project and engineering performance
- Establish procedures and provide direct support for plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development programs
- Participate in the investigation of technical problems and establish corrective actions to avoid recurrence
Design & Engineering Analysis
- Perform engineering tasks involving analysis and design, working from instructions, drawings, proposals, and specifications
- Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports
- Prepare design calculations including DC load, power consumption, and heat dissipation data
- Prepare Bill of Material for switchgear assemblies using available tools
Production & Site Support
- Actively engage in resolving production floor and site issues
- Assist in preparing design instructions for mechanical design and electrical draughtsman teams
- Prepare replies to customer comments on technical submittals in coordination with project management
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in a technical role
- In-depth knowledge of the Busbar product range
Essential Skills
- PC working knowledge of IFS, MS Office, CADD, and PDM systems
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
