Position Overview

This Warehouse Team Leader role in Magdeburg involves coordinating daily warehouse operations, assigning tasks to team members, and creating daily and weekly work plans to keep receiving, dispatching, sorting, and inventory management running smoothly. You will use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory, spot shortages, overstock, or damage, and propose solutions, while training new employees, enforcing safety procedures, and handling on-site issues such as equipment failure or wrong deliveries.

Daily Warehouse Operations

  • Lead the team to meet receiving and dispatching efficiency indicators

Inventory & WMS Management

  • Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor inventory dynamics
  • Detect inventory abnormalities such as shortages, overstock, or damage
  • Propose and implement solutions to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Complete warehouse report statistics and submit them on schedule

Team & Personnel Management

  • Guide new employees through onboarding and daily warehouse tasks
  • Conduct regular on-the-job training on operating procedures and safety
  • Supervise employees to ensure compliance with work processes and safety rules
  • Coach the team to build accountability and consistent performance

Problem Solving & Coordination

  • Handle emergencies such as goods damage, wrong delivery, or equipment failure
  • Coordinate communication with other warehouse departments and logistics partners
  • Support cost control by managing consumables and labor costs efficiently
  • Optimize work processes to reduce waste and improve throughput

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow German warehouse safety regulations and labor law requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics Management, Warehouse Management, or Supply Chain Management
  • Candidates with 1+ years of warehouse team management experience may be considered with a technical secondary school degree

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in the German warehouse industry preferred
  • 1+ years of team management experience preferred
  • Valid forklift operator certificate and warehouse on-site management experience

Essential Skills

  • Fluent German communication skills for instructions, coordination, and dispute handling
  • Basic English reading and writing skills are a plus
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools
  • Strong personnel management, problem-solving, and cost-control abilities
