Position Overview
This role supports administration of warehouse and manual handling plans and processes to provide smooth operations for forklift operations, material handling, and ground operations activities, including movement, storage, and inventory control, stacking, loading or unloading materials, and packaging of materials in line with corporate guidelines and policies.
 Why This Role Matters: As Warehouse Operative, you receive, sort, label, and store goods under supervision, optimizing warehouse space, verify items against shipment records and inspect for damages or defects, updating systems according to established procedures, support the operation of gas or electric powered forklift trucks to move, stack, and load materials and finished goods, perform order fulfilment based on customer requirements, retrieving stored information and responding to inventory or delivery inquiries, comply with established procedures to arrange daily pick-up schedules and dispatch delivery information efficiently, and stay updated with equipment usage, obtaining related certifications for loading, unloading, and material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory Management
- Receive, sort, label, and store goods under supervision, optimizing warehouse space
- Verify items against shipment records and inspect for damages or defects
Forklift & Material Handling
- Support operation of gas or electric powered forklift trucks to move, stack, and load materials
- Ensure forklifts and equipment are properly checked, used, and maintained daily
Order Fulfilment & Documentation
- Perform order fulfilment based on customer requirements
- Verify and process applicable documentation during package/freight pick-up or arrival
- Operate a scanner to process incoming and outgoing shipments
Scheduling & Customer Support
- Comply with established procedures to arrange daily pick-up schedules
- Answer basic queries from customer service and sales regarding shipment tracking
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Vocational, Specialized, Technical, or Certification-level education
Experience Requirements
- Less than 2 years of relevant experience
Essential Skills
- Ability to explain facts, practices, and policies within narrowly defined procedures and guidelines
- Comfortable communicating information that requires some explanation or interpretation
- Willingness to stay updated with equipment usage and obtain related handling certifications
