Position Overview
This Applied AI Engineer role covers ML solutions such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and process optimisation, plus GenAI applications such as chatbots, assistants and RAG-based tools. You will also integrate them into IT and OT systems.
Key Responsibilities
AI Product Development
- Develop AI-based features and digital products for machines and digital applications
- Assess and validate new AI use cases for feasibility and sensible implementation
- Turn ideas quickly into proofs of concept and minimum viable products
Machine Learning & GenAI
- Build ML solutions such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and process optimisation
- Build GenAI applications such as chatbots, assistance systems and RAG-based tools
- Choose suitable models, frameworks and technologies
Integration & Collaboration
- Integrate AI solutions into IT and OT systems and take prototypes into production with the teams involved
- Work closely with machine software developers, data engineers and other departments
- Guide external AI developers and partners technically, and track new AI developments
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Degree in applied computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning or a comparable qualification
Experience
- Several years of practical experience developing AI or machine learning solutions
- Very good programming skills, especially Python
- Solid experience with ML methods and modern GenAI technologies
- Experience building and integrating AI-based services, and training, evaluating and deploying ML models
Essential Skills
- Ability to assess new technologies quickly and turn them into working prototypes and products
- Independence in driving solutions and leading external development partners
- Initiative, curiosity and strong communication
- Fluent German and English (C1)
