Position Overview

The Supply Chain Planner at this Bremen-based FMCG family food company is a data-driven, cross-functional planning role responsible for the availability, stock efficiency, and delivery reliability of a diverse portfolio of fresh, frozen, and ambient food products across 20+ international brands. You will create and maintain rolling demand forecasts for baseline, promotional, and seasonal business in close alignment with sales and marketing teams, manage replenishment ordering with a strong focus on fresh and frozen items with best-before-date sensitivity, control stock levels, service levels, and markdowns, build KPI-based reporting frameworks, and actively contribute to the improvement of planning processes and system landscapes. This is a role for someone who makes data-based decisions, thrives at the intersection of numbers and human collaboration, and wants to actively shape supply chain performance — not just react to it.

Why This Role Matters: At this fifth-generation family food company in Bremen, the Supply Chain Planner is the person who ensures that a customer walking into a supermarket finds the right dairy product, the right cheese, or the right plant-based option — on the shelf, in perfect condition, with a good best-before date — every single time. In the fresh and frozen food business, getting supply chain planning right is not just operationally important; it is commercially critical and environmentally responsible. Every accurate forecast you produce reduces food waste. Every optimized stock level you set protects margins. Every delivery reliability improvement you drive strengthens customer relationships. This is supply chain planning with genuine purpose, genuine family values, and genuine career impact in 2026.

 Key Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Create and maintain rolling sales and demand forecasts covering baseline, promotional, and seasonal business across all brands
  • Develop demand plans in close alignment with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure forecasts reflect commercial reality
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional uplift patterns to improve forecast accuracy continuously
  • Build and maintain forecast accuracy KPI reporting and derive concrete actions when forecast performance falls below target

Replenishment & Stock Control

  • Trigger replenishment orders and coordinate timing and quantities — with a particular focus on fresh and frozen items with MHD sensitivity
  • Manage stock coverage levels, service levels, and markdown risks across the full product portfolio proactively
  • Monitor sell-through performance, stock overhang, and food waste risk and take corrective action before issues escalate
  • Control inventory levels to balance product availability, service level targets, and stock cost efficiency simultaneously

Interface Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with brand partners, logistics service providers, and internal departments — sales, marketing, and quality — daily
  • Serve as the planning coordination point between commercial teams and supply chain operations across the company
  • Escalate supply risks, stock shortages, or delivery issues proactively and propose practical solutions to all stakeholders
  • Support the integration of promotional and new product launches into supply chain planning and replenishment cycles

KPI Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Build and continuously develop reporting covering service level, forecast accuracy, stock coverage, and food waste KPIs
  • Analyze KPI trends and derive concrete improvement measures for planning, replenishment, and operational processes
  • Actively contribute to the development and optimization of planning and disposition processes and system landscapes
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new planning tools, ERP enhancements, and digital supply chain solutions

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Completed commercial training or degree in Business Administration (BWL), Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Proven professional experience in disposition, demand planning, or supply chain coordination — ideally in food or FMCG industry
  • Experience with fresh or frozen food supply chain planning is a particularly valuable advantage in this role
  • Familiarity with MHD-focused (best-before-date driven) supply chain management is beneficial and highly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel — Pivot tables, XLOOKUP — and experience with Power Query for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems and/or dedicated planning systems for demand forecasting and replenishment management
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, precise working style — you make decisions based on data, not assumptions
  • Very good German language skills and good English proficiency — both essential for this Bremen-based role
