We are urgently seeking an experienced Quality Controller to join our expanding team at our state-of-the-art new facility in DIP2 (Dubai Investment Park 2), Dubai. Position Overview – Quality Controller Seafood Industry

The Quality Controller will play a critical role in managing quality assurance operations for our seafood products, ensuring compliance with Chef Middle East standards, Dubai Municipality regulations, and international food safety requirements. This position requires a hands-on professional who can effectively manage quality standards, supervise production processes, and implement continuous improvement strategies in a fast-paced seafood processing environment.

Key Responsibilities & Core Functions

  • Production Team Leadership: Help production staff achieve company quality goals by clearly communicating expectations, developing comprehensive plans, monitoring daily performance metrics, and systematically evaluating job results to ensure consistent quality output
  • Quality Improvement Implementation: Develop and implement effective strategies, techniques, and methodologies to continuously improve product quality standards, enhance process efficiency, and elevate overall operational excellence across all production lines
  • Shift and Quality Management: Manage shift operations seamlessly without quality compromises, addressing day-to-day issues related to quality standards, production workflows, and compliance requirements with prompt decision-making and problem resolution
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Complete all necessary daily documentation accurately including quality inspection reports, temperature logs, sanitation records, HACCP monitoring sheets, and compliance entries as required by regulatory authorities and internal standards
  • Production Workflow Support: Collaborate closely with production supervisors to establish proper workflow systems, optimize production sequences, ensure timely completion of tasks, and maintain quality standards throughout all processing stages
  • Sampling and Analysis Coordination: Contact appropriate laboratories and testing facilities for product sampling and microbiological/chemical analysis; maintain comprehensive records of all testing results, trends, and corrective actions
  • Specification Management: Prepare, maintain, and regularly update detailed specification sheets for all seafood products including quality parameters, processing methods, storage requirements, and customer-specific requirements
  • Customer Relations Support: Support Production Manager during customer visits, facility tours, and quality audits by presenting quality systems, answering technical questions, and demonstrating compliance with quality standards
  • Supplier Quality Management: Maintain comprehensive supplier evaluations, quality records, incoming material inspections, and vendor performance assessments to ensure consistent raw material quality
  • Stock Examination and Control: Examine and receive incoming stocks based on production requirements and established quality standards, ensuring proper storage conditions, rotation procedures, and traceability systems
  • Staff Training and Counseling: Counsel and train employees on quality procedures, optimal workflow practices, hygiene standards, and food safety protocols to achieve consistent high-quality output
  • Schedule Management: Create and maintain professional production schedules, quality inspection timetables, and monitoring routines that ensure comprehensive quality oversight
  • Continuous Improvement Planning: Align with Production Manager and Category Manager to develop and implement quality improvement plans, corrective action strategies, and preventive measures

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Industry Experience (Mandatory): Proven minimum 2 years of professional experience specifically in Quality Control roles within the seafood industry, demonstrating knowledge of seafood handling, processing, storage, and quality requirements
  • HACCP Certification (Mandatory): Currently certified with HACCP Level 3 qualification from recognized training provider, demonstrating advanced knowledge of food safety management systems and hazard analysis
  • Educational Background (Preferred): Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Processing, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related biological sciences from established, accredited university
  • Seafood Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of seafood quality characteristics, spoilage indicators, freshness assessment, temperature control requirements, and seafood-specific HACCP considerations
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Dubai Municipality food safety regulations, UAE food standards, and international seafood quality requirements

  • Communication Excellence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for preparing reports, conducting training, liaising with suppliers, and interacting with regulatory authorities and customers
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, Word for documentation, and Microsoft Office suite for daily operational requirements
  • Analytical Capabilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate quality issues, interpret laboratory results, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective actions
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail for quality inspections, documentation accuracy, compliance verification, and monitoring critical control points
  • Work Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work long hours, flexible shifts, and extended schedules as required to meet project deadlines and production demands
