Position Overview – Quality Assurance Supervisor Meat Processing
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead and manage all quality assurance activities across the production facility, ensuring strict compliance with international food safety standards including BRCGS, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regulations. This position requires a certified Lead Auditor with proven expertise in meat processing quality systems and strong leadership capabilities to drive food safety culture throughout the organization.
As a supervisory role within our quality management team, you will be responsible for implementing robust HACCP systems, conducting critical control point monitoring, leading corrective action programs, and ensuring continuous improvement in food safety and quality performance across all manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
- Daily QA Operations Management: Supervise and manage comprehensive day-to-day Quality Assurance activities within the production facility including inspections, monitoring, documentation, and team coordination to maintain consistent quality standards
- HACCP System Implementation: Ensure effective implementation, continuous monitoring, validation, and verification of HACCP plans and Critical Control Points (CCPs) throughout meat processing operations, conducting regular reviews and updates based on process changes
- CAPA Leadership: Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations, conduct thorough root cause analysis using systematic problem-solving methodologies, implement effective corrective measures, and monitor follow-up actions to prevent recurrence
- Internal Audit Program: Conduct regular internal inspections and comprehensive quality audits across production lines, hygiene systems, sanitation procedures, and documentation systems to verify compliance with established standards and identify improvement opportunities
- External Audit Management: Prepare for, actively support, and participate in external audits including BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standards), FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification), ISO 22000, SFDA inspections, and customer audits, ensuring successful outcomes
- Regulatory Compliance Assurance: Ensure complete compliance with Saudi Arabian food safety regulations, SFDA requirements, local municipality standards, and international food safety frameworks applicable to meat processing operations
- Documentation Control: Review, approve, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product specifications, quality records, HACCP documentation, and compliance reports ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Quality Monitoring and Control: Monitor product quality parameters, assess food safety risks, track non-conformances, analyze quality trends, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions to maintain product excellence
- Training and Development: Train and coach QA team members and production staff on food safety requirements, quality procedures, HACCP principles, hygiene practices, and regulatory compliance standards through structured programs
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate effectively with production teams, engineering departments, supply chain management, and procurement to maintain quality standards, resolve quality issues, and implement improvement initiatives
- Supplier Quality Management: Oversee supplier approval processes, conduct vendor audits, monitor incoming raw material quality, and maintain supplier performance records for meat and ingredient suppliers
Required Qualifications & Educational Background
- Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Microbiology, Food Safety Management, or closely related discipline from accredited university
- FMCG Experience (Mandatory): Minimum 5 years of proven professional experience in Quality Assurance roles within FMCG food manufacturing or food processing environments, demonstrating progressive responsibility and achievements
- Meat Processing Expertise (Mandatory): At least 1 year of direct hands-on experience specifically in meat processing operations, understanding meat quality attributes, spoilage indicators, microbiological risks, and meat-specific HACCP requirements
- Food Safety Systems Experience: Strong practical experience implementing and managing Critical Control Points (CCP), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), internal inspections, and comprehensive food safety management systems
- External Audit Experience: Proven track record successfully handling external audits from certification bodies including BRCGS, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 auditors, and regulatory inspections from SFDA and other authorities
- Lead Auditor Certification (Mandatory): Must hold current valid certification as Lead Auditor in FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, or BRCGS from internationally recognized certification body. This is a mandatory requirement for the position
