Key Responsibilities
Territory Planning & Business Development
- Develop annual business plans with key retailers and conduct quarterly performance reviews to hit sales milestones
- Build strong relationships with growers, agronomists, and retail partners across Northern Illinois and Wisconsin
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the biological and specialty crop protection market
Sales Achievement & Performance Tracking
- Meet and exceed sales targets using Qlik reporting tools and monthly area manager reviews
- Adjust tactics based on real-time sales data to maximize territory performance
- Complete monthly rolling sales forecasts using Excel to project current and future revenue
Technical Training & Industry Leadership
- Deliver technical training on biological products to internal sales teams and external customers
- Establish Syngenta as the premier technical authority on biologicals within the territory
- Present complex biological science concepts clearly to both technical and commercial audiences
Demo Trials & Product Launch Support
- Organize and manage field demonstration trials to generate real-world yield data for marketing use
- Showcase current biological products and new technologies to key customers in demo plot settings
- Support new product launches with field-validated performance data and customer testimonials
Sales Forecasting & Reporting
- Complete monthly rolling forecasts to project current and future sales performance across the territory
- Use Qlik data reporting to monitor progress and inform strategic decisions
- Provide timely insights to area managers on territory trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required — Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Plant Biology, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of agronomy fundamentals, plant physiology, and abiotic stress management
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of agribusiness sales experience — fertilizer, plant nutrition, or biologicals preferred
- Proven track record in account management and demand creation within an agricultural sales environment
- Hands-on experience with R&D or product development processes in the biological or specialty ag sector
Essential Skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills — ability to engage both technical scientists and commercial customers
