Position Overview
This Associate Manager – Product Development position in the UAE is a highly technical and strategic role focused on soap bar formulation, NPD, EPD, and value engineering. You will serve as the primary technical expert for soap bar and noodle development across all markets, lead plant trials at international manufacturing sites, ensure regulatory compliance in multiple countries, and drive innovation workshops and intellectual property initiatives to strengthen the brand’s product claims and unique selling propositions.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Project Management
- Act as the primary technical contact for soap bar and noodle development across all international markets
- Lead bar soap formulation projects aligned with business requirements and evolving market needs
- Develop strong expertise in process development for bar soaps with minimal deviation from conventional manufacturing
- Conduct plant trials and provide on-site technical support at co-packer facilities in Egypt, Malaysia, Iraq, and other regions
- Drive formulation development for new categories including Skin Care and Hair Care based on strategic business goals
Value Engineering & Existing Product Development
- Lead and deliver assigned value engineering initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites
- Optimize existing formulations and processes to improve cost-efficiency and performance
- Drive revamp and enhancement of current product lines as per business briefs
- Redefine processes to meet evolving market and operational demands
Product Registrations & Futuristic Technologies
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and cross-functional coordination for timely product registrations across international markets
- Track evolving regulatory standards and country-specific requirements to maintain full compliance
- Organize and lead innovation workshops with internal stakeholders on emerging categories and technologies
- Identify and integrate new technologies into product formulations
- Drive intellectual property initiatives including publications and patent filings to strengthen product USPs
Key Performance Indicators
- OTIF Delivery: On-time, in-full delivery of all product development and technical outputs
- Successful Product Launches: Readiness across formulation, process, and cross-functional coordination
- Process Optimization: Improved manufacturing efficiency and reduced operational variability
- Value Engineering Projects: Timely execution delivering measurable cost savings to the business P&L
- Regulatory Compliance: Full compliance with country-specific regulations and evolving standards
- Innovation Workshop Execution: At least one innovation workshop annually generating actionable insights
- IP Development: At least one patent published or filed annually to strengthen product differentiation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Cosmetology or Chemical Engineering (desirable and preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field as minimum educational foundation
Experience Requirements
- 7–10 years of hands-on working experience in personal care product development
- Proven expertise in bar soap formulation and surfactant chemistry
- Experience with international plant trials and co-packer technical support
- Track record in value engineering and existing product development (EPD)
