This Agriculture Project Manager role involves managing agricultural-focused engineering projects from proposal through completion for award-winning Mannik & Smith Group consulting firm. You will lead AutoCAD-based design, permitting, and construction observation and certification, serve as primary client contact providing clear communication and technical guidance, manage project scope schedules budgets and production staff, oversee contract budgets and financial performance, mentor and develop staff, coordinate with multidisciplinary MSG teams across eight specializations, and support business development through proposal preparation and due diligence activities.

Key Responsibilities
Agricultural Engineering Project Leadership
- Lead and manage agricultural-focused engineering projects from proposal through completion
- Perform AutoCAD-based design work for agricultural infrastructure and systems
- Oversee permitting processes ensuring regulatory compliance and approvals
- Conduct construction observation and certification for agricultural engineering projects
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as primary client contact for agricultural engineering projects
- Provide clear communication, regular project updates, and technical guidance to clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships supporting repeat business
- Ensure projects delivered align with client expectations and quality standards
Business Development & Growth
- Support business development efforts preparing proposals for new opportunities
- Participate in due diligence activities for potential projects and clients

Project Management & Financial Oversight
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets ensuring successful delivery

Staff Mentorship & Team Development

Engineering Design & Technical Work
- Perform and oversee general civil, agricultural, and environmental engineering design
- Apply strong AutoCAD design experience creating technical drawings and specifications

- Review and approve technical deliverables produced by project teams
Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate with MSG Surveying team for site assessment and boundary work
- Collaborate with Environmental team on regulatory compliance and impact studies
- Work with Geotechnical engineers on soil analysis and foundation design
- Interface with Structural, Civil, Agricultural, Traffic, Transportation teams
- Coordinate with Construction Services ensuring constructability and field support
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Environmental Engineering
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in engineering or related field advantageous
Professional Licensure
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred and highly valued
- PE license in Ohio or ability to obtain Ohio PE through comity
- Active pursuit of PE licensure acceptable for qualified candidates
Experience Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant engineering and project management experience (Essential requirement)
- Proven track record managing projects from initiation through completion
- Experience with agricultural infrastructure, drainage systems, or rural development projects
- Demonstrated ability managing staff, teams, and project budgets effectively
Technical Skills
- Strong AutoCAD design experience essential for role (Mandatory skill)
- Proficiency in civil and agricultural engineering design software and tools
- Understanding of permitting processes and regulatory requirements
- Construction observation and project certification experience
