Position Overview
As a Team Leader for Bakery Plant Production at Almarai’s Al Kharj site, you will take full operational ownership of your assigned shift — planning and organising the team, driving production plan execution within agreed timelines, enforcing quality and food safety standards, maintaining budgetary discipline, and developing operator capability through coaching and on-the-job training. - Organise and lead the assigned bakery production shift from start to finish — ensuring all activities are executed in alignment with agreed production plans, daily output targets, time schedules, and defined budgetary controls.
- Coordinate all pre-shift preparation activities including raw material readiness, equipment status checks, work order allocation, and team briefings to ensure a seamless and on-time production start every shift.
- Monitor production performance continuously throughout the shift, identifying and resolving deviations from schedule, quality specifications, or safety standards before they escalate into line stoppages or product non-conformances.
Operator Supervision & Multicultural Team Leadership
- Directly supervise and manage bakery plant operators — ensuring all team members work efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with defined quality standards and operational procedures on automated bread and pastry production lines.
- Lead and motivate a multicultural workforce, applying strong interpersonal and communication skills to build team cohesion, maintain morale, and drive consistent high-performance across diverse operator groups.
- Provide structured on-the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback to operators — developing team capability, reinforcing standard operating procedures, and supporting individual performance improvement on an ongoing basis.
Quality Standards & Food Safety Compliance
- Enforce Almarai’s defined quality standards consistently across all shift production activities, ensuring every bread and pastry product meets the exacting specifications that underpin the company’s “Quality you can trust” brand promise.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and all applicable HACCP control measures relevant to automated bakery plant operations at the Al Kharj facility.
- Identify, document, and escalate quality non-conformances and food safety deviations promptly — supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and protect product integrity.
Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Use Microsoft Office tools to compile and submit accurate shift performance reports — covering output volumes, quality metrics, downtime events, waste levels, and operator attendance for management review.
- Apply analytical thinking to identify production inefficiencies, waste sources, and recurring issues on the bakery line — proposing and implementing practical improvements that enhance overall equipment effectiveness and line output.
- Actively participate in production review meetings, contributing clear, structured, and data-backed insights that support continuous improvement planning across the Al Kharj bakery plant operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Bakery Technology or Food Technology from a recognised university — this is a mandatory shortlisting requirement for all applicants to this Team Leader role.
