Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Coordinator at Chef Middle East Muscat is a key support role within the company’s quality management structure. Working alongside the QA Officer, you will handle customer food safety questionnaires, prepare corrective action requests, manage FSMS documentation, author and update SOPs, facilitate external audits, and conduct monthly GWP and vehicle inspections.  Key Responsibilities

Food Safety Documentation & Customer Support

  • Accomplish customer food safety assessment questionnaires and all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Respond to QA-related enquiries from customers, suppliers, and internal teams with professionalism and accuracy
  • Prepare Corrective Action Request (CAR) forms for both customers and suppliers, ensuring issues are captured and resolved

QA Documentation & Filing Management

  • Manage filing and organization of all Quality Assurance documentation — both digital and physical — including FSMS manuals, procedures, policies, checklists, and monitoring records
  • Assist the QA Officer with administrative tasks including word processing, document editing, presentations, filing, and handling internal document requests
  • Author and update procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required to reflect current food safety and operational standards

Audit Facilitation & Inspections

  • Facilitate external audits in the absence of the QA Officer, representing the company’s quality management framework professionally
  • Perform monthly Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) and vehicle inspections in the absence of the QA Officer to maintain compliance
  • Administer Food Watch BFS training requests and manage customer link approvals as applicable

General Quality Operations Support

  • Support the QA Officer across a broad range of quality assurance activities and operational quality tasks as directed by Chef Middle East management
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving the company’s overall food safety and health & safety management framework
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are consistently upheld across distribution and warehousing operations

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Postgraduate or graduate degree in Biotechnology, Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 2 to 3 years of food plant or FMCG-related experience, including direct involvement in plant sanitation or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience & Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of QA procedures and food industry legislation, particularly HACCP standards and food safety management systems
  • Familiarity with FSMS documentation, food safety audits, and corrective action processes in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Experience or preference for candidates with Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene training certification

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools — Word and Excel — for documentation, reporting, and data management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, managers, and employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation tasks, filing systems, and QA records simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a quality team
