Position Overview
The Finance Manager – Business Performance & Portfolio Finance role at EDGE Group is designed for a commercially minded finance professional who can translate complex financial data into clear, actionable strategic insight. Reporting into the Cluster CFO structure within the Platforms & Systems Cluster, this role spans portfolio-level FP&A, project and program finance, strategic governance, and high-level business partnering — making it one of the most well-rounded senior finance opportunities currently available in Abu Dhabi’s industrial and defence sector.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Performance & FP&A
- Consolidate and review financial performance across multiple entities within the Platforms & Systems Cluster
- Monitor performance against budgets, forecasts, targets, and strategic objectives, identifying risks, opportunities, and key business drivers
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and broader business planning processes across the portfolio
- Conduct variance analysis, scenario planning, and advanced financial modelling, and develop executive dashboards and management reporting
Project & Program Finance
- Review project financial performance including revenue recognition, profitability, cost-to-complete, cash flow, and funding requirements
- Evaluate project and program commercial performance, supporting project review forums and senior management discussions
- Assess the financial implications of project risks, schedule changes, and execution challenges across the portfolio
Strategic Finance & Governance
- Develop and evaluate business cases, investment proposals, and strategic initiatives supporting long-term growth
- Support acquisitions, partnerships, restructuring activities, and emerging growth opportunities across the cluster
- Provide financial insights directly to executive leadership, boards, and governance committees
- Drive reporting consistency, transparency, and continuous financial governance improvements
Business Partnering & Analytics
- Partner closely with entity CFOs, project managers, PMO teams, commercial leaders, and Group Finance functions
- Present financial analysis and strategic recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Leverage SAP S/4HANA, Power BI, and advanced analytics tools to enhance reporting quality and decision-making speed
- Promote scalable, efficient finance processes and a broader culture of data-driven insight across the cluster
Qualifications & Requirements
Professional Qualifications
- CA, ACCA, CFA, or an equivalent recognised professional finance qualification is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, demonstrating clear career growth into senior FP&A or business performance roles
- Strong background in FP&A, business performance management, project finance, and commercial finance is essential
- Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defence, engineering, technology, industrial, or project-based environments is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modelling and business case development capabilities
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis expertise across multi-entity portfolios
- Solid understanding of project profitability and cost-to-complete analysis methodologies
- SAP S/4HANA experience preferred, along with advanced Excel and Power BI skills
