Position Overview
As Associate Quality Assurance at talabat in Dubai, you will be the quality guardian of fresh products — ensuring that every fruit, vegetable, and meat product moving through talabat’s stores, distribution centres, and supplier pipeline meets the company’s strict quality specifications, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Your work covers the full fresh product quality cycle: from routine inspections and freshness evaluations to defect identification, corrective action coordination, supplier performance support, and customer complaint investigations. Key Responsibilities
Fresh Produce & Meat Quality Inspections
- Conduct routine quality inspections for fruits, vegetables, and meat products across talabat stores, distribution centres, and supplier locations — ensuring every batch meets company specifications
- Evaluate freshness, appearance, colour, texture, ripeness, packaging condition, temperature compliance, and shelf life for all fresh product categories inspected
- Perform sampling and inspection activities using standard quality procedures, inspection checklists, and talabat’s internal quality protocols — maintaining rigorous sampling discipline at all times
- Verify product compliance with company specifications, UAE food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards before products are accepted or cleared for distribution
Cold Chain Monitoring, Storage & Hygiene Compliance
- Monitor product handling practices, storage conditions, hygiene standards, and cold chain compliance across stores, warehouses, and supplier sites during all inspection visits
- Identify cold chain deviations, temperature excursions, improper product handling, and hygiene non-conformances — documenting findings accurately and escalating issues promptly
- Ensure that all fresh product storage environments maintain the temperature, humidity, and hygiene conditions required by UAE food safety regulations and talabat’s quality standards
- Support the implementation of corrective actions related to cold chain and storage non-conformances — following up with operations and store teams to verify improvements are sustained
Defect Identification, Non-Conformance Reporting & CAPA
- Identify and document product defects, non-conformities, physical damage, contamination risks, and quality deviations encountered during inspections — reporting findings clearly and promptly
- Coordinate with operations, suppliers, and store teams to implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) that address identified quality deviations and prevent recurrence
- Support the product rejection and escalation process when products do not meet talabat’s quality or safety standards — ensuring rejected goods are correctly handled and documented
- Investigate customer complaints and quality incidents related to fresh product quality — gathering evidence, identifying root causes, and coordinating appropriate corrective responses
Supplier Performance, Documentation & Stakeholder Relationships
- Assist in supplier performance evaluations and quality improvement initiatives — providing structured inspection data and feedback that supports talabat’s supplier development goals
- Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized inspection records, quality reports, and supporting documentation in line with talabat’s quality management and compliance requirements
- Ensure ongoing compliance with HACCP, GMP, food safety standards, and talabat’s internal quality protocols across all inspection activities and supplier interactions
- Build and maintain effective, professional working relationships with store employees, supplier representatives, and management teams to foster a collaborative quality culture throughout the supply chain
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Agriculture, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a closely related scientific discipline — required for this Associate QA role
- Additional certifications in HACCP, food safety auditing, or fresh produce/meat inspection are considered a meaningful advantage and will be given preference
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience in quality assurance, fresh produce inspection, meat quality control, or food retail operations is preferred and will be a strong differentiator in the selection process
- Working knowledge of fresh produce quality parameters, meat handling best practices, and food safety principles relevant to a UAE retail or distribution environment
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and applicable UAE food safety standards as they apply to fresh product quality monitoring and supplier compliance management
