Position Overview

This Offshore Construction Engineer role coordinates with all departments for offshore-related project scope, assists the Offshore Construction Manager in technical evaluations and materials expediting, liaises with third-party agencies and marine warranty surveyors, attends weekly progress meetings, implements project safety plans, initiates variation orders, prepares mobilization plans, and coordinates with Barge Superintendents and Field Engineers to ensure complete mobilization readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Materials Management

  • Coordinate with all departments within the company for all offshore-related scope of the project
  • Assist OCM in preparing requirements and technical evaluation of offshore materials
  • Expedite material delivery, receipt at stores, and approval of MRVs

Reporting, Meetings & Third-Party Liaison

  • Assist OCM in providing input for weekly and monthly reports and attend client meetings
  • Assist in liaising with third-party agencies on offshore execution-related issues
  • Liaise with marine warranty surveyors on document review, approval, load-out, towing, and offshore installation
  • Attend weekly meetings with OOD/OCM to discuss progress and areas of concern

Safety, Quality & Claims

  • Ensure implementation of the project safety plan and the company HSEMS
  • Ensure and enhance quality of work across all offshore activities
  • Initiate variation orders and claims related to offshore work
  • Compile technical input (procedures and engineering documents) and assist CM in assigning offshore durations

Mobilization Planning & Execution

  • Prepare mobilization plans and attend mobilization meetings
  • Coordinate with OPE, Barge Superintendents, and Field Engineers to ensure thorough and complete mobilization

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Engineering

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore construction
  • Thorough understanding of offshore operations
  • Knowledge of personnel and equipment in offshore environments
  • Willingness to work onshore and offshore
