Key Responsibilities

Testing & Commissioning Planning, Execution & Leadership

  • Plan, prepare, monitor, and coordinate project testing and commissioning schedules in collaboration with suppliers, vendors, clients, and site teams — ensuring all T&C activities are completed on time and within project program
  • Lead and supervise the on-site testing and commissioning team — ensuring the safe, structured, and technically compliant execution of all commissioning activities from pre-energization checks through to final system handover
  • Perform comprehensive testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of HV/LV electrical equipment, power protection systems, generators, and MEP installations across projects of all scales
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to junior engineers, supervisors, and technicians — building team capability and ensuring consistent standards of T&C execution across all Gulf Power projects

Technical Documentation & Report Preparation

  • Prepare, review, and maintain complete technical documentation — including method statements, test procedures, risk assessments, inspection reports, commissioning records, as-tested schedules, and final handover test reports
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready — meeting project specification requirements, client documentation standards, and UAE authority submission requirements
  • Maintain meticulous commissioning records throughout the project lifecycle — ensuring full traceability between test results, punch list resolution, and final handover certification for each system commissioned

HV/LV & Substation Commissioning — Technical Execution

  • Execute functional testing, protection relay testing, earth continuity testing, insulation resistance measurement, power quality analysis, and performance verification for HV/LV substations, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment
  • Commission generator systems and automatic transfer switches — verifying load testing performance, protection settings, fuel system integration, and compliance with ADDC, TRANSCO, and applicable UAE authority connection standards
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, protection malfunctions, control system failures, and MEP system issues during testing and commissioning activities — implementing effective corrective actions and documenting root causes

Client Coordination, Authority Compliance & HSE

Promote and maintain a safe working environment on site at all times — actively identifying hazards, enforcing safe work practices, and ensuring all T&C activities are conducted in full compliance with Gulf Power’s HSE standards
