Position Overview
The Production Engineer at NFPC UAE is responsible for executing the production planning schedule, optimising resource allocation, and managing material planning to ensure efficient and uninterrupted dairy and juice manufacturing operations. This technically driven role covers weekly mixing and processing plan preparation, production expense monitoring, processing plant oversight, compliance with NFPC quality and safety standards, ingredient and process record maintenance, chemical parameter control, batch yield optimisation, SOP auditing, non-conformance investigation, and full implementation of GMP, ISO, and HACCP standards. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of dairy and/or juice manufacturing experience with strong Lean and continuous improvement credentials.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Schedule Execution
- Prepare the weekly mixing and processing plan in full alignment with the weekly production plan — ensuring all production targets, timelines, and quality specifications are consistently met
- Drive processing plant operations to ensure complete adherence to the defined production plan — proactively addressing deviations before they impact delivery commitments
- Assist the Production Manager in preparing the annual operating expense budget — monitoring monthly expenses, providing regular reports, and contributing inputs for annual CAPEX requirements
- Develop and maintain all necessary production performance reports to assess, track, and communicate operational performance against targets
Process Operations & Chemical Parameter Control
- Maintain accurate records of ingredient receiving, mixing, pasteurisation and UHT treatment, buffer storage, and handover to Aseptic and Fresh Filling Sections in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain chemical parameters of all products within defined specifications — targeting near-zero processing loss and 100% batch yield through to buffer storage
- Oversee the effective and efficient running of overall production operations — ensuring all equipment, processes, and personnel are aligned to production goals
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce operational costs through optimal utilisation of manpower, materials, and machinery (3M factors)
GMP, HACCP, ISO Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and maintain GMP practices across all production areas — ensuring consistent compliance with ISO and HACCP standards at all times
- Ensure compliance with NFPC standards for cost control, waste reduction, product quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost
- Apply continuous improvement and Lean tools — including Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma — to drive measurable operational improvements across the production function
- Ensure adherence to procedures through regular audits — updating SOPs as required to reflect process improvements, regulatory changes, or operational learnings
Non-Conformance Management & Root Cause Investigation
- Investigate non-conformance notices (NCNs) and customer or quality complaints — identifying root causes and providing workable, sustainable solutions and improvement opportunities
- Maintain complete and accurate non-conformance records and corrective action documentation for audit readiness and management reporting
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to implement and verify corrective and preventive actions across production processes
- Track non-conformance trends and drive systemic improvements that prevent recurrence and reduce production quality deviations over time
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a directly related technical field
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the dairy and/or juice manufacturing industry — with solid knowledge of dairy and juice processing equipment and production systems
- Proven experience applying continuous improvement and Lean tools — including Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma — to drive operational improvements in a food or beverage production environment
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to investigate NCNs, identify root causes, and implement effective, sustainable corrective actions
- Strong proficiency in MS Office — particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access — for data analysis, production reporting, and performance tracking
- Solid knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards as applied to food and beverage manufacturing environments
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail — essential for accurate production record keeping, SOP compliance, and batch yield management
