Position Overview
As QSHE Coordinator at Almarai in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, you will enforce compliance of the Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) management systems across the Makkah region — implementing QSHE strategies, standards, policies, and procedures that meet and exceed consumer and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities
QSHE Management System Implementation & Compliance
- Assist in implementing the Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) Management System across all Makkah regional operations — ensuring all processes, procedures, and standards meet and consistently exceed the expectations of Almarai’s consumers and customers
- Enforce compliance with Almarai’s QSHE strategies, standards, policies, and procedures across the Makkah region — conducting regular compliance checks, monitoring system adherence, and driving a culture of quality and safety accountability at every operational level
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of integrated management systems — ensuring Almarai’s Makkah regional operations maintain full compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, food safety, occupational health, and environmental management requirements simultaneously
- Support the continuous updating and improvement of QSHE processes — identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and future-readiness of Almarai’s integrated quality, safety, health, and environment management framework
Business Risk Identification & QSHE Strategy Implementation
- Assist with the systematic identification of business risks across Makkah regional operations — applying competent risk assessment methodologies to evaluate potential threats to product quality, consumer safety, employee health, and environmental compliance
- Support the implementation of divisional QSHE strategies designed to minimise any potential serious threats to the Almarai business — translating strategic risk management objectives into practical, operational controls across all regional functions
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all relevant Makkah regional business processes — providing clear, well-documented risk evaluations that inform management decisions and support the continuous improvement of QSHE risk controls
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented risk controls — tracking their performance against established objectives and identifying any changes in the risk environment that require updated or additional control measures across regional operations
Internal Audits, Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
- Carry out structured internal audits across all Makkah regional functions — assessing compliance with QSHE management systems, identifying non-conformances and improvement opportunities, and making well-reasoned recommendations for appropriate corrective actions
- Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and quality deviations — conducting thorough root cause analysis using established methodologies to identify the true origins of non-conformances and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
- Manage consumer and customer complaints end-to-end — receiving, investigating, and resolving quality and safety complaints with professionalism and urgency, ensuring documented responses that maintain consumer trust and customer relationships
- Coordinate product recall activities, accident investigations, and Municipality authority interactions — managing these high-sensitivity processes with meticulous documentation, clear communication, and strict adherence to Almarai’s QSHE protocols and regulatory requirements
Regional QSHE Technical Training & Knowledge Development
- Plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive regional technical training programs for all functional staff across Makkah — covering QSHE strategies, policies, procedures, food safety standards, occupational health requirements, and environmental compliance obligations
- Build a strong QSHE knowledge and awareness culture across Almarai’s Makkah regional team — ensuring every employee understands their personal role in maintaining the quality, safety, health, and environmental standards that define Almarai’s consumer promise
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, QSHE performance summaries, and corrective action documentation — applying strong technical report writing skills to produce clear, structured, and evidence-based documents for management review and regulatory compliance
- Apply structured problem-solving skills and root cause analysis frameworks — contributing to an evidence-based, data-driven approach to QSHE improvement that systematically addresses non-conformances and elevates overall quality and safety performance across the region
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Health, Safety, and Security (HSS), or a related scientific discipline is preferred for this QSHE Coordinator role at Almarai’s Makkah region operations
Certification Requirements
- ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor IRCA certification is required — demonstrating the internationally recognised audit competence needed to lead internal audits across Almarai’s Makkah regional QSHE management system
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Occupational Health and Safety qualification (CMIOSH) is required — providing the occupational health and safety management foundation essential for this integrated QSHE role
