Position Overview
This Quality Control Manager role at Sitaf in Riyadh is a full-time, senior strategic position created specifically to build the company’s quality management infrastructure from the ground up. There is no existing QMS to inherit — your mandate is to establish it, implement it, and lead it. You will design and implement quality procedures, policies, and operational standards; ensure full compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and SFDA regulations; manage quality controls across warehousing, logistics, supplier networks, and distribution; lead audits, inspections, traceability systems, and corrective action programmes; and drive a strong food safety culture across the entire organization. You will work closely and cross-functionally with operations, procurement, warehouse, and commercial teams — building quality into every business process from the inside out. This role demands 5 or more years of QC/QA leadership in Food Service, HoReCa, or FMCG, excellent knowledge of international food safety standards, strong leadership and organizational capability, and the entrepreneurial mindset to build processes in a fast-growing premium food environment where the quality system you create will define the company’s regulatory posture and customer trust for years to come.
Why This Role Matters: As Quality Control Manager at Sitaf Riyadh, you are not stepping into a role — you are creating one, and that distinction makes all the difference for a quality professional who has spent years maintaining other people’s systems and is ready to design their own, your QMS, your food safety framework, your audit programme, and your quality culture will define how Sitaf operates for years to come — a level of organizational impact that most quality professionals never get the chance to achieve, you work in the premium food import and distribution sector at a time when Saudi Arabia’s appetite for high-quality, internationally sourced food products is growing faster than the regulatory infrastructure can keep up with — making your SFDA compliance expertise a genuine competitive differentiator for the business, and you build your professional legacy at a company that trusted you enough to hand you a blank page and say: build us something excellent.
Key Responsibilities
Building the Quality Management System from Scratch
- Design, build, and implement Sitaf’s entire Quality Management System from the ground up — creating the policies, procedures, operational standards, and documentation framework that will govern the company’s quality function going forward
- Establish clear, practical, and enforceable quality procedures across all business operations — ensuring every function from import and warehousing through logistics and distribution has defined quality standards and accountability
- Develop and implement food safety and quality management frameworks that are fully compliant with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regulatory requirements
- Create a scalable QMS architecture that can grow with Sitaf’s business — building quality systems designed for a fast-growing premium food company, not just for today’s operational footprint
Supply Chain Quality Management
- Manage quality controls across Sitaf’s full supply chain — covering warehousing standards, cold chain and logistics compliance, supplier qualification and performance, and distribution quality at the point of delivery
- Develop and implement a supplier quality management programme — establishing clear supplier standards, audit frameworks, performance metrics, and corrective action processes that protect the integrity of Sitaf’s premium product portfolio
- Monitor quality across the entire cold chain and distribution network — ensuring temperature-sensitive premium food products maintain their quality, safety, and compliance from import receipt to final customer delivery
- Coordinate product traceability systems across the supply chain — ensuring every imported product can be traced accurately and completely from origin through to end customer in the event of a quality issue or recall requirement
Audits, Inspections & Corrective Actions
- Lead all internal quality audits and inspections across Sitaf’s warehouses, logistics operations, and distribution activities — documenting findings, identifying non-conformances, and driving corrective and preventive actions to closure
- Manage the company’s corrective action programme — ensuring all quality non-conformances and food safety deviations are investigated, root-caused, addressed, and verified for effective and lasting resolution
- Support and coordinate external audits by SFDA regulatory authorities, third-party certification bodies, and major customer quality inspections — ensuring Sitaf is audit-ready at all times
- Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, inspection records, audit reports, and corrective action logs — providing senior management with clear quality performance visibility and regulatory compliance evidence
Food Safety Culture & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Drive a strong, genuine food safety and quality culture across the entire Sitaf organization — ensuring that quality is understood, valued, and actively practiced by every team from warehouse staff to commercial management
- Deliver food safety and quality training to staff across all relevant functions — building awareness, competency, and personal accountability for food safety from the warehouse floor to the purchasing desk
- Work closely and collaboratively with operations, procurement, warehouse, and commercial teams — embedding quality into cross-functional processes and ensuring quality considerations are integrated into every business decision
- Serve as Sitaf’s internal and external expert on food safety regulations, SFDA requirements, and international quality standards — advising leadership on compliance obligations, risks, and improvement opportunities
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance — with a strong operational and managerial background in the Food Service, HoReCa, or FMCG industry
- Proven track record of building, implementing, or significantly developing QMS frameworks, food safety systems, or quality audit programmes in a food business context
- Strong background in premium food distribution, food import operations, or fast-moving food service environments — understanding the specific quality and traceability challenges of the premium food supply chain
Technical Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of international food safety standards — specifically HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP — and Saudi SFDA regulatory requirements for food importers and distributors
- Demonstrated ability to build quality processes and operational structures in a fast-growing business environment — someone who creates systems rather than waits for them to exist
Personal Skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills — with the authority and communication ability to drive quality standards across multiple functions and business levels
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the professional resilience to build from scratch in a fast-growing environment where structure, processes, and documentation need to be created rather than inherited
- Fluent English communication skills — written and verbal — for supplier communication, regulatory correspondence, and senior management reporting in a premium food import business
