- Monitor and verify that all production processes, equipment, and product handling practices are consistently compliant with the company’s Halal certification requirements and the conditions of its certification body
- Identify potential Halal integrity risks in processes, ingredients, and production practices — communicating findings to the QA Manager and coordinating corrective actions with relevant teams
- Support the preparation and review of the Halal Management System documentation — ensuring all records, flowcharts, control plans, and compliance evidence are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
Halal Ingredient Verification, Traceability & Supplier Compliance
- Verify the Halal status of all incoming raw materials, ingredients, additives, processing aids, and packaging materials — reviewing supplier Halal certificates, CoA documents, and ingredient declarations before approval
- Conduct and maintain thorough supplier Halal verification records — tracking certificate validity, renewal dates, and compliance status for all approved Halal suppliers in the company’s approved supplier list
- Ensure proper Halal ingredient traceability is maintained throughout the production process — from raw material receipt through production, storage, and finished product dispatch
- Coordinate with the Procurement team on Halal ingredient sourcing decisions — providing technical Halal compliance input on new ingredient approvals, supplier changes, and product reformulation activities
Production Inspections — Segregation, Sanitation & Contamination Control
- Conduct regular Halal inspections of production areas, storage zones, and food handling environments — verifying that Halal product segregation, equipment cleaning, and cross-contamination controls are consistently maintained
- Inspect sanitation and cleaning procedures for Halal compliance — ensuring that cleaning agents, procedures, and schedules meet Halal requirements and that cross-contamination with non-Halal substances is effectively prevented
- Monitor and verify that Halal products and non-Halal materials are properly segregated in all storage, handling, and production areas — in full compliance with the company’s Halal segregation policy
- Document all inspection findings accurately and promptly — raising non-conformances, implementing corrective actions, and verifying effectiveness within agreed timelines
Internal Halal Audits, Documentation & Employee Training
- Plan and conduct internal Halal audits across all production, storage, and supplier-facing activities — assessing HMS effectiveness and identifying improvement opportunities before external certification audits
- Maintain comprehensive and well-organized Halal compliance records — including inspection logs, audit reports, supplier verification files, employee training records, and corrective action documentation
- Support external Halal certification body audits — preparing required documentation packages, coordinating site access, and ensuring all areas are audit-ready and compliant at the time of inspection
- Design and deliver Halal awareness and training sessions for production, procurement, and QA staff — ensuring all employees understand their role in maintaining Halal integrity across the manufacturing operation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Islamic Studies, Quality Management, or a closely related field — required for this Halal Officer role in Dubai’s food manufacturing sector
- Additional certifications in Halal auditing, food safety management, or Islamic dietary law are a meaningful professional advantage and will be given priority in the selection process
Experience Requirements
