Position Overview
This Sales Agronomist role provides expert agronomy advice to help farmers maximize crop yields, while promoting and selling agronomy-related products and services including chemicals, fertilizer, and seed. You will formulate and explain agronomy programs for weed control, insect control, and soil fertility, stay current on industry trends and new technologies, participate in field examinations and crop scouting, coordinate delivery and follow-up of agronomy services, and maintain accurate records of customer contacts and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities
Agronomy Advisory & Sales
- Provide expert agronomy advice to farmers to help maximize their crop yields
- Promote and sell agronomy-related products and services, including chemicals, fertilizer, and seed
Program Development
- Formulate, develop, and explain agronomy programs for weed control, insect control, soil testing, and soil analysis
- Provide soil fertility recommendations and application programs
- Stay current on industry trends and new agronomy technologies
Field Services & Delivery
- Participate in field examinations including soil testing, product delivery, and crop scouting
- Schedule, coordinate, and participate in delivery and post-delivery follow-up of agronomy services
Customer & Records Management
- Assist in resolving customer-related questions and issues
- Create and maintain accurate records of customer contacts and daily sales activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Agronomy degree or current enrollment in an agronomy education program
- Farming and agronomy background preferred
Licensing & Screening Requirements
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical
- Valid Class A driver’s license in good standing, or ability to obtain one after hire

- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally
- Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the shift
- Frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive use of arms and hands
- Standing/working for extended periods, including on uneven terrain and ladders
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and tolerate noise and dust exposure
- Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required
