Salary Range: $58,800.00 – $78,500.00 USD annually + Bonus eligibility

Position Overview

The Agronomy & Sustainability Analyst role combines strong technical data expertise with applied agronomic understanding, focusing on standardizing and accelerating data collection, analytics, and insight delivery. Reporting to the Director of Agronomy, this position leads analytics strategy, builds scalable data pipelines, integrates precision agriculture tools, and delivers dashboards and reporting that inform agronomic decisions, grower practices, and business planning across McCain’s North American operations.

 Key Responsibilities

Analytics Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead development and execution of a robust agronomy and sustainability analytics strategy
  • Design and deliver analytics that inform agronomic decisions and business planning
  • Serve as the analytics leader within the Agronomy & Sustainability team

Data Engineering & Governance

  • Standardize and enhance data collection, management, validation, and governance processes
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and modern cloud-based data environments
  • Integrate precision agriculture data sources such as remote sensing and field sensors

Advanced & AI-Driven Analytics

  • Analyze agricultural, supply chain, and operational datasets for actionable insights
  • Apply predictive, prescriptive, and AI-driven analytics to improve decision-making
  • Support adoption of AI-enabled workflows across agronomy teams

Dashboards & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI or Tableau
  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, practical insights for stakeholders
  • Deliver insight-driven reporting to field, agronomy, and business teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate across teams to drive adoption of data tools and analytics
  • Influence stakeholders at multiple levels to support data-driven decision-making
  • Support grower practices and regenerative agriculture expansion initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, agriculture, or a related field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years delivering advanced analytics solutions in agriculture, supply chain, or a similar environment
  • Proven ability to lead projects combining business process transformation with advanced analytics

Essential Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, APIs, and automated data pipelines
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and validation practices
  • Experience applying AI, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics to business problems
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture data sources (remote sensing, IoT sensors, field systems)
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to travel up to 25%
