Position Overview
This BMS Technician at ALEC Technologies in Abu Dhabi installs and terminates BMS field devices — sensors, actuators, and controllers — as per approved drawings, carries out panel wiring, ferruling, cable glanding, and basic control panel connections, installs field communication cables with correct routing, assists in installing BMS controllers, I/O modules, control panels, and network switches, reads and follows shop drawings, panel GA drawings, and installation instructions, performs basic point-to-point testing for field devices and controllers, supports testing of analog and digital inputs/outputs, assists in identifying basic faults in wiring, devices, and communication issues, and works as part of a team supporting senior technicians in daily installation and commissioning activities on ALEC Technologies’ Abu Dhabi project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
BMS Field Device Installation & Panel Wiring
- Install and terminate BMS field devices — sensors, actuators, and controllers — in accordance with approved engineering drawings and installation standards
- Carry out panel wiring, ferruling, cable glanding, and basic control panel connections to the required quality and safety standards
- Install field communication cables with proper routing as per site cable management requirements — ensuring clean, organised, and maintainable installations
- Assist in installing BMS controllers, I/O modules, control panels, and network switches as directed by senior technicians and project engineers
- Read, interpret, and follow shop drawings, panel GA drawings, and installation instructions correctly — translating engineering design into physical installation
Point-to-Point Testing, Commissioning & Fault Diagnosis
- Perform basic point-to-point testing for BMS field devices and controllers — verifying correct wiring continuity and signal integrity before system energisation
- Support testing of analog and digital input/output channels and system functionality checks during the commissioning phase
- Assist in identifying basic faults in wiring connections, field devices, and communication link issues — escalating complex faults to senior technicians appropriately
- Support system validation activities — ensuring all installed BMS components operate in accordance with sequences of operation and project specifications
Standards Compliance, Safety & Team Collaboration
- Follow project construction standards, site safety rules, and quality requirements throughout all installation and commissioning activities
- Work as an effective team member — supporting senior BMS technicians and project engineers in daily installation, testing, and commissioning operations
- Maintain a methodical and organised approach to installation work — ensuring documentation, test records, and site reports are accurate and complete
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in BMS installation and commissioning — with demonstrated competence across field device installation, panel wiring, and P2P testing
- Basic hands-on experience with BMS systems and standard field devices — sensors, actuators, controllers, and I/O modules
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, panel GA drawings, and engineering installation instructions
- Willingness to relocate to Abu Dhabi — on-site, UAE-based role requiring full relocation
- Commitment to site safety standards, quality procedures, and professional work practices
Preferred Experience
- Experience on commercial building or data centre BMS projects — strong preference for candidates with this background
