About Etihad Airways — Shaping the Future of Global Aviation

Company: Etihad Airways — more than the UAE’s national airline, shaping the future of global aviation from Abu Dhabi hub, connecting passengers across continents and cultures worldwide

Journey 2030: Etihad’s ambitious growth agenda — doubling the fleet, expanding the global network, and developing people for a new era of commercial excellence in aviation

Revenue Management Function: At the heart of Etihad’s commercial success — Flight Analysts use PROS, inventory systems, and multi-source data to maximise revenue and drive network performance

Apply: www.etihad.com — Etihad never requests personal information, bank details, or payment during recruitment; any such request is fraudulent

Why This Flight Analyst Role Stands Out

Etihad’s Commercial Core: Revenue Management is at the heart of Etihad’s commercial success — Flight Analysts directly influence how one of the world’s most dynamic airline networks performs commercially, flight by flight and route by route

PROS System Expertise: Apply one of the aviation industry’s most advanced revenue management platforms — PROS — alongside multiple data sources to drive inventory decisions that directly impact airline revenue performance

Journey 2030 Growth: Join Etihad during one of the most ambitious expansion programmes in the airline’s history — fleet doubling and network expansion that creates genuine career growth for high-performing Revenue Management analysts

Cross-Functional Commercial Influence: Collaborate with Revenue Management, Market, Group, Network Operations, and Airport teams — broad commercial influence across the full Etihad network

Position Overview

This Flight Analyst — Revenue Management at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi forecasts no-show and cancellation trends across assigned routes, optimises overbooking strategies to maximise revenue while balancing guest experience and denied boarding costs, leverages PROS and multiple data sources to identify trends and recommend inventory actions, manages inventory during peak travel periods using market insights and historical demand patterns, monitors forward booking trends, analyses route performance deviations, partners with Revenue Management, Market, and Group teams to correct forecast imbalances, works with Network Operations and Airport Managers to proactively manage denied boarding risk, designs inventory management approaches for redemption and non-revenue travel, evaluates revenue dilution risks, and produces insightful reporting and analysis demonstrating performance trends and commercial impact across Etihad’s global network.

Why This Role Matters: As Flight Analyst at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi, you make the inventory and forecasting decisions that determine whether an Etihad flight generates the revenue it was capable of generating — or leaves value on the table through poor overbooking calibration, inaccurate no-show forecasting, or slow response to emerging demand patterns. When your overbooking model correctly captures no-show rates on an Abu Dhabi–London departure during peak demand, your forward booking analysis identifies a demand shortfall two weeks before departure in time for corrective inventory action, or your PROS-based recommendation recovers revenue that a less attentive analyst would have left unsold — that is commercial intelligence that builds Etihad’s bottom line, flight by flight, every single day.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Optimisation Through Intelligent Inventory Management

  • Forecast no-show and cancellation trends across assigned Etihad routes — applying statistical analysis, historical booking pattern data, and PROS system intelligence to produce accurate overbooking parameters that maximise revenue without generating unacceptable denied boarding exposure
  • Optimise overbooking strategies to maximise revenue while carefully balancing guest experience and denied boarding costs — maintaining the commercial and customer service equilibrium that Etihad’s brand and operational standards require
  • Leverage PROS and multiple data sources to identify trends and recommend precise, timely inventory actions — ensuring Etihad’s flight-level inventory decisions are based on the best available forward demand signal
  • Manage inventory during peak travel periods — applying market insights, historical demand trends, and seasonal patterns to ensure Etihad’s highest-demand routes are optimally inventoried for Eid, summer peak, and critical travel periods across the global network

Network Performance Monitoring, Forecasting & Demand Analysis

  • Monitor forward booking trends continuously — identifying opportunities to improve demand forecasting accuracy and flagging routes where booking pace is deviating from historical norms in ways that require inventory intervention
  • Analyse route performance across assigned network sectors — highlighting deviations from expected demand patterns that represent both revenue risk and recovery opportunity for the Etihad commercial team
  • Partner with Revenue Management, Market, and Group teams to correct forecast imbalances and unlock revenue opportunities — ensuring cross-functional coordination of inventory actions across Etihad’s network
  • Provide critical insights to support commercial decision-making — producing the analytical outputs that give Etihad’s Revenue Management leadership the information clarity needed for strategic and tactical decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration, Reporting & Inventory Innovation

  • Work closely with Network Operations and Airport Managers to proactively manage flights where denied boarding is anticipated — developing practical solutions balancing operational efficiency, guest experience, and commercial outcomes
  • Design and implement inventory management approaches for redemption and non-revenue travel — ensuring these segments are managed with the same commercial rigour as revenue-generating inventory
  • Evaluate revenue dilution risks and recommend optimal inventory strategies — identifying and acting on scenarios where the wrong fare class mix or allocation is reducing total achievable flight revenue
  • Produce insightful reporting and analysis demonstrating performance trends and commercial impact — communicating findings clearly to Revenue Management leadership and commercial partners

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Business, Statistics, or another numerate discipline — or equivalent demonstrated experience in Reservations or Inventory Management
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the travel industry — of which a minimum of 2 years in a Revenue Management, Commercial Sales, or Analytics environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities — ability to interpret large datasets and translate insights into actionable recommendations for Revenue Management and commercial teams
  • Commercial acumen and genuine passion for aviation and revenue optimisation — understanding the commercial drivers of airline network performance and how inventory decisions contribute to them
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — with the ability to influence decisions across Revenue Management, Market, Group, Network Operations, and Airport teams

Beneficial Experience

  • Previous experience in Inventory Management and working with Revenue Management systems — particularly PROS or equivalent airline revenue management platforms
  • Familiarity with overbooking modelling, no-show forecasting, and demand pattern analysis specific to commercial airline operations
  • Experience in airline analytics, pricing, or related commercial aviation functions — understanding the specific dynamics of hub-and-spoke international airline networks
