Position Overview
The Livestock Farm Manager at RENECO Abu Dhabi plays a critical operational and analytical role in supporting the review, optimization, and continuous improvement of RENECO’s conservation breeding programmes across multiple species and breeding sectors. You will assess and improve breeding protocols, reproductive management practices, feeding and nutrition programmes, veterinary health protocols, biosecurity measures, and infrastructure conditions — while supporting data management, KPI reporting, and corrective action planning. This is not a conventional farm management role — it is a specialized conservation science position for a highly motivated professional who understands both animal production systems and the unique demands of endangered species breeding.

Main Missions & Responsibilities
Breeding Programme Management & Optimization
- Support the review and optimization of breeding programmes, genetic diversity management, and selection strategies aligned with RENECO’s conservation and production objectives
- Review reproductive management practices, breeding protocols, success rates, and operational record-keeping processes — identifying gaps and recommending evidence-based improvements
- Assess breeding infrastructure, enclosures, housing conditions, water systems, and operational facilities to ensure they support optimal breeding outcomes
Feeding, Nutrition & Animal Health Management
- Assess feeding programmes, feed quality, and nutritional practices across different species and breeding sectors within the conservation programme
- Review veterinary support, health monitoring practices, disease prevention measures, and biosecurity procedures across all breeding operations
- Ensure animal health management protocols — including vaccination practices, biosecurity, and disease surveillance — are current, effective, and consistently applied
Team, Infrastructure & Supply Chain Assessment
- Evaluate team structure, operational organization, staff capabilities, training needs, and workforce allocation across breeding centres — identifying development opportunities and gaps
- Review procurement and supply chain practices related to feed, veterinary supplies, operational materials, and equipment — ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Support the identification of operational improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of corrective action plans and operational recommendations
Data Management, Reporting & KPI Monitoring
- Support the review of data management systems, reporting practices, operational KPIs, and record accuracy across all breeding operations
- Monitor operational performance through structured reporting, KPI tracking, and data-driven analysis to inform management decisions
- Contribute to the preparation of operational reports, performance summaries, and presentations related to breeding activities and RENECO project objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Animal Production, Veterinary Sciences, or a closely related field — strong academic foundation in animal production systems is essential
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous exposure to farm operations, animal production, breeding activities, or production unit management is a significant advantage for this role
- Strong understanding of animal production systems — including nutrition management, feed efficiency, reproduction cycles, and production performance monitoring
- Knowledge of animal health management, vaccination practices, disease prevention, and biosecurity protocols in a breeding or farming environment
- Ability to monitor operational performance through structured reporting, KPI tracking, and data-driven analytical methods
Personal Attributes
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills — with flexibility and adaptability in diverse, multinational operational environments
- Awareness of operational risks and ability to support problem-solving within complex animal production settings independently
