Position Overview
The Logistics Leader (m/w/d) at Gore’s Putzbrunn 5 site is a senior on-site leadership role with full functional and disciplinary responsibility for the local logistics team — planning, managing and continuously improving all logistics processes including goods receipt, warehousing, production supply, material flow, transportation and inventory management for raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished goods. This leader ensures reliable supply to customers and other Gore plants, drives compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 quality and safety standards, represents logistics in internal and external audits, manages customer complaints with root cause analysis, and works cross-functionally with production, planning, quality, purchasing, sales, finance and external logistics service providers — all while developing the team’s capabilities and contributing strategically to the site’s logistics strategy and cost and performance goals.
Why This Role Matters: At Gore’s Putzbrunn 5 site, the Logistics Leader is the person who ensures that every raw material arrives on time, every production line is supplied without interruption, every customer shipment leaves accurately and on schedule, and the entire inventory management system reflects reality with precision. In a manufacturing site that operates under IATF 16949 automotive quality standards alongside ISO environmental and safety frameworks, logistics is not just a back-office function — it is a critical, audited and commercially vital part of Gore’s ability to deliver on its commitments to customers across Europe and beyond. The Logistics Leader in this role defines how well that happens, every day.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Provide functional and disciplinary leadership of the Putzbrunn logistics team — setting clear direction, expectations and performance standards while supporting each team member’s individual capability development and professional growth in line with Gore’s inclusive associate-led culture.
- Plan resources, capacities and staffing to meet the operational and strategic needs of the logistics team and the broader Putzbrunn site business — ensuring the team is correctly sized, skilled and organized to deliver reliable logistics performance across all operational areas.
- Mentor and develop logistics team members — identifying individual development needs, providing constructive feedback and creating growth opportunities that build a high-performance, capable logistics team prepared to meet Gore’s evolving supply chain demands.
Logistics Process Management & Operational Excellence
- Ensure stable, efficient logistics processes across all operational domains — including goods receipt, warehousing, production supply, transportation, material flow and inventory management for raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished products at the Putzbrunn 5 site.
- Plan and manage inventory across all material categories — applying ERP (SAP preferred), WMS and TMS systems to maintain accurate stock records, minimize excess inventory, prevent shortages and ensure the production supply reliability that Gore’s manufacturing operations and customer commitments require.
- Drive continuous improvement of logistics processes — applying lean methodologies, structured problem-solving and change management skills to identify waste, reduce lead times, improve material flow efficiency and contribute to the site’s cost and performance goals.
- Handle logistics-related customer complaints professionally and rigorously — conducting structured root cause analysis and implementing sustainable, verifiable corrective actions that resolve underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
Quality, Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Create, maintain and ensure compliance with all logistics-related process documentation within Gore’s applicable quality management systems — including IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 — maintaining complete, audit-ready documentation across all logistics processes at all times.
- Represent the logistics function in internal and external audits, as well as certification and recertification processes — presenting the logistics team’s compliance performance confidently and accurately to auditors from customers, certification bodies and internal Gore quality stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable legal requirements and relevant quality and safety regulations across all logistics activities at the Putzbrunn site — maintaining a zero-compromise approach to regulatory compliance in logistics operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partner Management
- Work closely and collaboratively with production, planning, quality, purchasing, sales and finance teams at the Putzbrunn site — ensuring logistics decisions and operations are fully aligned with the broader site business requirements and commercial commitments.
