Position Overview

This Maintenance Mechanical Engineer position at Eaton in Dubai sits within the company’s manufacturing operations — part of a globally connected business environment that has served the Middle East for over four decades. The engineer will be responsible for the full maintenance, servicing, and integration of mechanical components across Eaton’s machines and production systems — leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies including 3D printing and autonomous mobile robots, applying structured root cause analysis methodologies to resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults, maintaining robot systems from Mitsubishi and Stäubli, and working with specialised Bihler cam-controlled machinery and STIWA high-speed assembly line technologies. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role that rewards deep automation expertise and a proactive, problem-solving engineering mindset.

Why This Role Matters: As a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer at Eaton Dubai — one of the world’s most trusted power management companies — you will maintain and optimise advanced manufacturing systems at Eaton’s new sustainable Dubai campus, work with cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies including AMR and 3D printing, apply your Bihler and STIWA expertise to ensure maximum production uptime, contribute to a global engineering team dedicated to sustainable power management, and build an exceptional engineering career within a stable, well-governed Fortune 500 company that operates across 180 countries.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance & Industry 4.0 Integration

  • Service, maintain, and integrate mechanical components of machines and production systems — applying a strong technical engineering skillset to ensure continuous, reliable manufacturing operations at Eaton’s Dubai facility
  • Leverage Industry 4.0 technologies — including 3D printing for rapid replacement part production, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and smart maintenance tools — to enhance equipment availability and operational efficiency
  • Maintain mechanical components of machines and systems through structured process engineering and continuous improvement techniques that reduce downtime and optimise production performance
  • Define and improve predictive maintenance planning frameworks — using data-driven insights and Industry 4.0 condition monitoring tools to anticipate failures before they impact production

Structured Maintenance, Inspections & Root Cause Analysis

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work on mechanical and electronic systems — including systematic inspections, cleaning, and lubrication activities using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems efficiently — applying sound knowledge of fault diagnosis and rectification techniques to minimise production downtime
  • Carry out functional and performance tests on automation systems following maintenance interventions — troubleshooting and initiating or optimising control programs to restore full system performance
  • Collaborate with the broader engineering team and external business partners — including tool makers, design engineers, and third-party specialists — in planning and implementing technical improvements

Robot System Maintenance & Automation Troubleshooting

  • Maintain and troubleshoot robot systems and other automated components within Eaton’s existing production processes — ensuring all robotic systems operate safely, reliably, and at peak performance levels
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in robot-controlled production systems — including associated image processing, drive technology, testing technology, machine safety systems, and other integrated automation technologies
  • Apply hands-on knowledge of Mitsubishi and Stäubli robot integration and programming — setting parameters, resolving system faults, and optimising robot performance to support high-volume manufacturing throughput
  • Ensure all robot systems and automation components comply with machine safety standards and Eaton’s internal engineering and quality requirements at all times

Bihler & STIWA Specialised System Operations

  • Apply specialist knowledge of Bihler cam-controlled machines — including punching, welding, and bending operations — to perform expert-level maintenance, setting, and troubleshooting across Bihler servo technology systems
  • Work with STIWA high-speed automatic assembly line technology — maintaining, optimising, and troubleshooting STIWA assembly systems and cam-controlled drive systems to ensure maximum production availability
  • Operate and maintain additional high-speed automatic assembly line technologies including Stiwa, PIA, Festo, Omron, B&R, and DA Automation platforms as part of the broader production maintenance scope
  • Support the training and skills development of production and maintenance employees — transferring specialised Bihler, STIWA, and automation system knowledge to build broader team capability across the Dubai facility

Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate actively in the planning and implementation of technical improvements across the production facility — contributing engineering insight and practical maintenance expertise to drive measurable performance gains
  • Use mechanical and electrical CAD systems — including Creo Direct — to review, interpret, and where required create or modify engineering drawings in support of maintenance and improvement activities
  • Work closely with engineers, tool makers, and external partners to ensure all maintenance, integration, and improvement projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required technical standard
  • Contribute to Eaton’s sustainability agenda by identifying and implementing energy-efficient maintenance practices and equipment optimisation initiatives aligned with the company’s global sustainability commitments

Qualifications & Requirements
