Position Overview

This Mechanical Engineer role in Dubai is a site-based, execution-focused position on a live Residential High Rise Building project. You will study the project design and proactively suggest enhancements to the MEP works scope, review Bills of Quantities and Work Orders for sufficiency and alignment with design intent, execute and monitor all MEP works with vendors in line with the construction programme and GFC drawings, achieve planned progress milestones while maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinate across Civil and Structural, Finishes, and other vendor teams on site, liaise between the Central Design team and the project, and assist with tender drawings, BoQ preparation, vendor negotiations, invoice certification, and meticulous record keeping throughout the project duration in Dubai.

Why This Role Matters: As Mechanical Engineer on this Dubai high rise project, you directly drive MEP works delivery on one of the city’s active residential towers — shaping the mechanical systems that will serve thousands of residents for decades, apply your technical expertise across the complete MEP execution lifecycle from design review through installation, inspection, and handover in a fast-paced Dubai construction environment, build a standout UAE project portfolio with documented BoQ management, GFC execution, SAP usage, and multi-vendor coordination experience on a high-rise residential building, play a critical coordination role connecting design intent, site realities, vendor capabilities, and construction schedule demands across all mechanical disciplines, and grow your career in Dubai’s thriving and expanding residential construction sector — where skilled MEP engineers with high rise and SAP experience are consistently in high demand.

 Key Responsibilities

MEP Design Review & Works Enhancement

  • Thoroughly study the project design documentation including MEP drawings, specifications, and engineering reports — proactively identifying and suggesting practical, value-adding initiatives to enhance MEP works design efficiency and constructability
  • Review Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and Work Orders in detail to verify work scope coverage, quantity accuracy, and full alignment with the approved project design and GFC drawing set
  • Identify design gaps, scope ambiguities, or quantity discrepancies early and coordinate with the Central Design team to resolve them before they impact construction schedule or cost on site
  • Contribute technical insights from site conditions and vendor capabilities back to the design team to ensure that MEP engineering solutions are practical, buildable, and optimised for the Dubai high rise environment

MEP Works Execution & Site Monitoring

  • Execute and continuously monitor all MEP works on site with appointed vendors — ensuring full compliance with Good For Construction (GFC) drawings, approved method statements, and the overall construction programme schedule
  • Achieve planned MEP works progress milestones as required by the construction schedule — proactively identifying delays, resource gaps, or technical blockers and implementing effective mitigation actions to keep the project on track
  • Maintain stringent quality standards across all mechanical installations on site — conducting regular inspections, snagging activities, and quality checks to verify that all MEP works meet specification and regulatory requirements
  • Enforce full compliance with site safety protocols, health and safety regulations, and company HSE requirements across all mechanical works activities and vendor personnel throughout the project

Multi-Team Site Coordination

  • Coordinate and manage daily interface between MEP vendor teams and Civil and Structural, Finishes, and other specialist vendors on site — preventing clashes, resolving conflicts, and maintaining a smooth construction workflow across all disciplines
  • Serve as the key communication link between the Central Design team and the project site team — facilitating timely design clarifications, drawing updates, and technical instructions that keep MEP works proceeding without delay
  • Chair and participate in site coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress reviews — maintaining clear action registers and ensuring all MEP-related issues are tracked, escalated appropriately, and resolved efficiently
  • Manage coordination with multiple MEP sub-contractors and specialist vendors simultaneously — maintaining alignment on scope boundaries, interfaces, and shared programme milestones across the full high rise MEP package

Tender, Vendor Management & Documentation

  • Assist in the preparation of tender drawings, BoQ documents, and technical specifications for MEP works packages — ensuring accurate scope definition, competitive tendering, and alignment with project design standards
  • Participate in vendor negotiations — leveraging a strong vendor database and excellent negotiation skills to secure advantageous commercial terms, quality commitments, and reliable delivery timelines for all MEP packages
  • Review, verify, and certify vendor invoices against completed works, approved BoQ items, and contractual milestones — maintaining accurate, well-organised records of all financial transactions and progress certifications
  • Utilise SAP for procurement, vendor management, purchase order tracking, and project documentation — maintaining full digital records of all MEP works activities, approvals, and financial transactions throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited university — essential for this MEP works execution role on a Dubai high rise residential building
  • Additional qualifications or professional certifications in MEP engineering, project management, or construction management are considered a meaningful career advantage for this position

Experience Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience in MEP works execution on high rise residential or commercial building projects in Dubai or the UAE — with demonstrated ability to manage vendors and coordinate multi-trade site activities
  • Practical experience reading and executing works from Good For Construction (GFC) drawings across mechanical disciplines including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, drainage, and building services
  • Prior experience in BoQ review, tender document preparation, vendor negotiation, and invoice certification in a UAE construction project environment is strongly preferred

Essential Skills

  • SAP exposure and working knowledge of SAP modules used in construction procurement, vendor management, and project documentation — a practical requirement for daily operational management in this role
  • Strong vendor database knowledge and established supplier relationships within Dubai’s MEP sub-contractor and building services supply market — enabling effective and efficient vendor management on site
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English — essential for cross-functional team coordination, design team liaison, vendor management, and professional reporting to project management
  • Strong negotiation skills with a high level of personal integrity — critical for fair, transparent vendor management, contractual compliance, and professional stakeholder interactions throughout the project
