Position Overview
The QHSE Specialist at EthosEnergy Abu Dhabi is a technically demanding, senior quality and compliance role covering the full breadth of workshop QC leadership, welding and NDT inspection, calibration management, quality documentation, API product compliance, and both internal and external audit management. You will lead the QC team in day-to-day workshop activities, manage all NDT processes including RT, UT, MPT, PT, and PMI, design and maintain WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation to ASME IX and API standards, issue Certificates of Conformance, prepare Quality Plans and ITPs, manage non-conformance reporting, assist in API Q1 and ISO audits, and serve as the Management Representative driving Service Excellence across EthosEnergy’s Middle East operations. International travel is required as part of this role’s regional scope.

Key Responsibilities
Workshop QC Leadership & Technical Support
- Lead the QC team in all day-to-day workshop quality activities — providing technical assistance on-site and ensuring quality standards are consistently enforced across all jobs
- Guide the inspection team in repair and rework recommendations for Wellhead and drill-through equipment including BOPs (Single Ram, Double Ram, Annular, Wire Line), Drilling Spools, Christmas Trees, Studded Blocks, Crossovers, Pipes, PUP Joints, and all API 6A / 16A / 16C / 5CT / 7-1 certified products
- Review quality documents, procedures, pressure test certificates, GA drawings, and final documentation daily — issuing Certificates of Conformance and Compliance for all completed jobs
- Prepare Project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all applicable projects and repair scopes
NDT, Welding Inspection & Calibration
- Take full in-charge responsibility for all NDT processes across the workshop — including RT (Radiographic Testing), UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MPT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), and PMI (Positive Material Identification)
- Oversee and inspect all welding activities in the workshop — designing, preparing, and maintaining WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), PQR (Procedure Qualification Records), and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualifications) in full compliance with ASME IX, API 6A, and API 16A requirements
- Conduct formal inspection of all welding joints and manage the bi-annual welder re-validation process
- Manage the dispatch of equipment for external calibration and maintain the Equipment Calibration Register — coordinating in-house calibration activities as required within the workshop
Quality Documentation, Reporting & NCR Management
- Prepare daily Quality Package activity reports covering NDE (MPI, LP, RT film review and certificates), Hardness Testing, Pressure Testing, Heat Treatment and PWHT report reviews, and formal Inspection Reports
- Prepare, maintain, and review method statements for both routine and non-routine job types within the facility
- Report all non-conformances to higher authorities and assist the Quality Manager in concluding Root Cause Analysis and implementing Corrective Actions on all NC jobs
- Control and continuously update QA documents and records, and prepare comprehensive monthly QMS performance reports
- Raise Purchase Requisitions (PRs) in the iFlight system for all QC-related activities and consumables
Audit Management & HSSE Compliance
- Assist the Quality Manager in API Q1, ISO 9001, and other system audits across the Abu Dhabi facility and wider business unit
- Conduct periodic quality system audits for business units across the Middle East region — ensuring all operations remain compliant with EthosEnergy quality and HSSE standards
- Support QHSE execution across the Middle East region, ensuring project-specific mobilization plans are in place and compliant with EthosEnergy HSSE standards, customer requirements, and applicable local regulations
- Assist in supplier evaluation and re-evaluation processes, and serve as API project lead for new Monogram application reviews including product and process review and design pack preparation
Service Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as Management Representative driving Service Excellence principles and the Quality Management System for EthosEnergy Middle East operations — ensuring QMS processes are established, implemented, and maintained
- Facilitate and lead the management team in implementing data-driven process improvements focused on improving customer loyalty and driving sustainable business growth
- Act as the Service Excellence subject matter expert for the business unit — training and mentoring management, process owners, and improvement teams
- Support BU leaders, facility managers, and project managers in establishing annual site performance goals and quality objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and intent of ISO 9001:2015, API Q1, API Q2, API 6A, API 16A, API 16C, API 5CT, and API 7-1
- Hands-on experience managing Quality Management Systems in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and API Spec Q1 / API Spec Q2
- Practical experience with API 6A, 16A, 5CT, 16C, and 7-1 products in a workshop or field service environment
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis tools and methodologies, with proven ability to lead corrective action processes
- Sound knowledge of operational hazards, HSSE controls, and international quality standards applicable to oil and gas facilities
Experience Requirements
- Proven prior experience in business management leadership within a quality or HSSE function in the oil and gas or energy services sector
- Experience leading audit teams for both internal and external quality and HSSE audits against ISO and API standards
- Experience in driving process improvements and applying successful change management tools to impact organizational quality culture
- Hands-on experience with NDT processes — RT, UT, MPT, PT, and PMI — in a workshop or field inspection environment
Education & Certifications
- Qualified Internal Auditor for QHSE standards — ISO 9001 or API Q1 auditor certification is required
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) is preferred for this role
- Candidate must hold, or be able to obtain, a valid passport and work visas as required for international travel across the countries in which EthosEnergy operates
