Position Overview
This Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer role involves preparing mechanical layouts using REVIT, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD, developing detailed manufacturing drawings, and coordinating with Electrical, Steelworks, PLC, and IT disciplines. You will prepare BOM, BOQ, and RFQ documentation, collaborate with suppliers and follow SAP processes, prepare design documentation for client approval, coordinate building interfaces, verify drawings against layouts, conduct site visits, and support installation and commissioning teams to deliver accurate as-built documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Documentation
- Prepare mechanical layouts using software such as Revit, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD
- Apply hands-on experience working in the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) environment
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and installation drawings
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Prepare BOM, BOQ, and RFQ for mechanical equipment procurement in line with project specifications
- Collaborate with suppliers to finalize equipment specifications and follow SAP processes for material ordering
Multidisciplinary & Building Interface Coordination
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines including Electrical, Steelworks, PLC, and IT
- Coordinate building interfaces considering space requirements, architectural collisions, accessibility, and safety
- Verify building drawings (MEP, FLS, Architecture, Structure) against layouts and generate clash reports
Documentation & Client Approval
- Prepare and submit design documentation, including O&M manuals, material submittals, and functional descriptions
- Review and address client comments regarding contract requirements and supplier specifications
- Prepare accurate as-built documentation
Site Support & Coordination
- Conduct project site visits for design surveys and resolve open points
- Respond to site technical queries, assist with snagging, and support installation and commissioning teams
- Coordinate technically with sales departments, consultants, customers, and suppliers as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience
- Or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of design experience in Baggage/Cargo Handling Systems or other conveying/logistics technologies
- Experience working with bid management teams and preparing quantity estimates (Engineering hours/BOQ/BOM)
Technical Skills
- Working experience of REVIT is a must, with AutoCAD 2D & 3D software (Inventor, Navisworks)
- Exposure to ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) environment is an added advantage
- Knowledge of SAP systems and ability to create new material numbers is a plus
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment safety standards (Machine Directive, EU Norms)
- Experience in structural calculations is a plus
