Position Overview – Quality Assurance Officer
The Quality Assurance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and implementing comprehensive quality management systems throughout meat production operations. This position requires a dedicated professional with proven experience in meat or food production quality assurance, strong knowledge of HACCP principles, ISO 22000 standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, managing internal audits, monitoring production processes, and ensuring complete compliance with Qatar food safety regulations and international quality standards. Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
- Food Safety Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with Qatar food safety regulations, international hygiene standards, company quality policies, and regulatory requirements throughout all meat production operations and processes
- Quality Inspections and Assessments: Conduct comprehensive quality inspections of raw materials, in-process production, finished meat products, packaging, storage facilities, and distribution operations to verify compliance with established quality standards
- Internal Audit Program: Plan, conduct, and document systematic internal audits across production lines, quality control laboratories, hygiene systems, and operational procedures to identify non-conformances and improvement opportunities
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, organized quality assurance documentation including inspection reports, audit findings, corrective action records, HACCP monitoring sheets, and compliance certificates for regulatory reviews
- Production Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor meat production processes including slaughter operations, cutting, processing, packaging, and cold storage to ensure consistent product quality, safety parameters, and specification compliance
- HACCP System Implementation: Implement and maintain comprehensive HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) systems including hazard identification, critical control point monitoring, verification activities, and corrective action procedures
- ISO 22000 Management: Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System including prerequisite programs, operational prerequisite programs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Food Safety Systems Maintenance: Ensure effective operation of integrated food safety systems including sanitation programs, pest control, traceability systems, and allergen management protocols
- Quality Standards Enforcement: Enforce company quality policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), hygiene practices, and food safety requirements across all departments and production teams
- Non-Conformance Management: Investigate quality deviations, product non-conformances, and customer complaints; implement corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence
- Staff Training and Awareness: Conduct quality awareness training for production staff, educate teams on food safety requirements, and promote quality culture throughout the organization
Required Qualifications & Educational Background
- Academic Credentials (Mandatory): Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Safety Management, Quality Management, Food Engineering, or closely related field from accredited university
- Industry Experience (Essential): Proven 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance roles specifically within meat production, poultry processing, or broader food manufacturing industry
- Meat Production Knowledge: Hands-on experience in meat processing quality control including understanding of meat quality characteristics, spoilage indicators, microbiological risks, temperature control, and meat-specific HACCP considerations
- HACCP Expertise (Mandatory): Strong practical knowledge and experience implementing HACCP systems including hazard analysis, critical control point identification, monitoring procedures, verification activities, and documentation requirements
- GMP Knowledge (Required): Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices covering personnel hygiene, facility design, sanitation procedures, equipment maintenance, and operational controls
- ISO 22000 Experience (Essential): Demonstrated experience with ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System requirements, internal auditing, and system implementation in food production environments
