Position Overview
The Quality Control Officer at GMG’s Farm Fresh division in Dubai will play a critical role in ensuring that all Farm Fresh products consistently meet GMG’s quality and safety standards through systematic monitoring, rigorous testing, and strict adherence to established quality control protocols. Working closely with the Quality Assurance Supervisor, this role covers incoming raw material inspections, final product quality checks, SAP ERP quality data management, batch reporting, corrective action initiation, supplier quality coordination, root cause analysis support, and active participation in GMG’s continuous improvement initiatives — all in line with GMG’s internal standards and applicable UAE food safety regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material & Final Product Quality Inspections
- Perform regular, systematic quality checks on all incoming raw materials — inspecting deliveries for specification compliance, product integrity, packaging condition, temperature compliance, and supplier documentation accuracy
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on final Farm Fresh products at all critical production and packaging stages — identifying any inconsistencies, defects, or non-conformities before products reach GMG’s retail and distribution network
- Conduct structured audits, tests, and inspections ensuring all Farm Fresh products consistently meet GMG’s defined quality standards and applicable UAE food safety regulatory requirements
SAP ERP Quality Data Management & Batch Reporting
- Utilise SAP ERP proficiently to maintain accurate, real-time records of all quality control data, inspection results, test outcomes, and batch reports across Farm Fresh production operations
- Implement quality control testing methods and accurately record all findings in SAP — ensuring full traceability, data integrity, and audit readiness for all Farm Fresh quality activities
- Generate comprehensive quality performance reports from SAP data — providing the Quality Assurance Supervisor with clear, accurate, and timely information for management review and decision-making
Non-Conformance Management & Corrective Actions
- In cases of quality non-compliance, promptly initiate corrective actions — coordinating effectively with the production team to investigate root causes, adjust processes, and implement preventive measures that eliminate recurrence
- Conduct structured root cause analyses for all identified quality non-conformances — using analytical skills and quality data to determine the precise origin of issues and recommend lasting solutions
- Track and document corrective actions through completion — verifying their effectiveness and maintaining accurate records of all non-conformance events and resolution outcomes in SAP ERP
Quality Reporting & Continuous Improvement Support
- Support the Quality Assurance Supervisor by preparing accurate and insightful daily and monthly quality reports — highlighting key trends, recurring issues, KPI performance, and improvement opportunities across Farm Fresh quality operations
- Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies — contributing practical, data-driven ideas that enhance product quality, inspection efficiency, and regulatory compliance across GMG’s Everyday Goods division
- Actively participate in quality training initiatives — maintaining personal competency in quality control methods, food safety regulations, SAP ERP usage, and GMG’s quality management procedures
Supplier Quality Coordination & Safety Equipment Compliance
- Coordinate regularly with Farm Fresh suppliers to ensure they consistently meet GMG’s quality standards — providing clear communication of quality requirements, feedback on supplier performance, and updates on evolving GMG quality specifications and best practices
- Ensure the proper use of safety equipment in all quality control procedures — maintaining personal and team compliance with GMG’s health, safety, and environmental requirements across all inspection and testing activities
- Maintain productive working relationships with production, procurement, logistics, and regulatory teams — ensuring quality is embedded in every stage of the Farm Fresh product lifecycle from sourcing through to shelf
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline is preferred for this role
- Professional certifications in food safety, HACCP, ISO 22000, or quality management systems are a meaningful professional advantage
Technical Competencies
- Strong, working understanding of quality control processes and food safety regulations — with the ability to apply these practically across raw material, production, and finished product inspection activities
