Position Overview

As Quality Manager at AMDC’s dairy manufacturing operations in Oman, you hold full leadership accountability for food safety management, quality control laboratory operations, HACCP programme integrity, regulatory compliance, and the company’s quality culture across plant and MCC environments. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role that demands both deep food safety expertise and the ability to influence operational teams, communicate clearly with senior management, and manage external certification bodies and regulatory authorities with confidence.

Why This Role Matters: In dairy manufacturing, the Quality Manager is the ultimate guardian of consumer safety and product integrity. At AMDC, you will have full authority over product hold, raw milk rejection, and HACCP documentation — making this one of the most empowered and consequential QA leadership positions available in Oman’s growing dairy and food manufacturing sector in 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams across both the main dairy manufacturing plant and all three Milk Collection Centre (MCC) operations — Hajeef, Ghado, and Zeek.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing technical quality team, embedding a quality-first culture across all operational levels of the organisation.
  • Prepare monthly quality KPI reports and present findings, trends, and recommendations directly to the Acting General Manager.

Food Safety Management System

  • Design, implement, and continuously maintain the company’s Food Safety Management System in full compliance with Omani Food Safety Law and international standards including ISO 22000 and HACCP.
  • Oversee all HACCP plans, Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring programmes, and corrective action processes across production and MCC environments.
  • Conduct and coordinate internal audits, management reviews, and third-party certification audits — managing all preparation, execution, and follow-up activities.

QC Laboratory Management

  • Manage the QC laboratory end-to-end: calibration schedules, test method accuracy, raw milk acceptance criteria, and finished product release authorisation.
  • Establish and enforce raw milk quality specifications at all three MCCs, liaising closely with the CSCO on supplier quality performance and incoming material standards.
  • Maintain all laboratory SOPs, equipment calibration records, and test documentation in line with ISO and regulatory requirements.

Non-Conformance, CAPA & Product Safety

  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes for all non-conformances, customer complaints, and potential product recall situations.
  • Manage cold chain compliance across the operation — ensuring pasteurisation, chilling, and storage parameters consistently remain within validated process limits.
  • Support new product development (NPD) initiatives from a quality and food safety perspective, ensuring new products meet all internal and regulatory standards before launch.

Regulatory Compliance & Training

  • Ensure full compliance with Oman Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) requirements and all relevant municipal health authority regulations.
  • Develop and deliver structured quality and food safety training programmes for production staff, MCC teams, and supervisory personnel at all operational sites.

Authority & Decision Rights

Product Hold Authority: Full authority to place product on hold or initiate a product recall — pending GM approval — without operational override

Raw Material Rejection: Authority to reject non-conforming raw milk or packaging materials at point of receipt across all MCC and plant locations

Documentation Approval: Full approval authority for QC laboratory procedures, HACCP plans, and food safety documentation across the organisation Apply Now — Quality Manager Oman

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or a closely related technical discipline from a recognised university.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is a significant advantage and preferred for candidates targeting the most competitive salary bands.

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive, hands-on experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing or dairy processing environment — this is a non-negotiable baseline requirement.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a technical QA/QC team in a manufacturing setting, with demonstrated results in food safety system implementation.
  • Experience with Omani or GCC food safety regulations is strongly preferred; candidates with MAFWR audit experience have a significant competitive advantage.

Certifications

  • Formal HACCP training with documented practical implementation experience in a food or dairy manufacturing environment is mandatory.

Key Competencies

  • Technical rigour and exceptional attention to detail in both laboratory and live production process environments.
  • Strong leadership capability with demonstrated experience building quality-first cultures across diverse, multilingual operational teams.
  • Structured analytical thinking and problem-solving through formal RCA and CAPA methodologies.
  • Clear, professional communication with senior management, frontline operational staff, and external regulatory auditors.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a valuable additional advantage in the Oman market.

About Oman’s Dairy & Food Manufacturing Sector

 Who Should Apply?

  • Senior QA Managers: With 7+ years in dairy or food manufacturing seeking a leadership role with CEO-level reporting and full food safety authority in the GCC.

  • Dairy Science Professionals: With QC laboratory management experience and deep knowledge of raw milk quality, pasteurisation, and cold chain compliance.
  • GCC-Based QA Professionals: Already familiar with Omani, Saudi, or UAE food safety regulatory frameworks seeking to advance into a senior Quality Manager role.
  • CAPA & Compliance Leaders: With proven track records in root cause analysis, non-conformance management, and regulatory audit preparation in food or dairy settings.
