- Develop and continuously deepen technical expertise in epoxy resin and hardener chemistry systems — building an authoritative, practically grounded understanding of structure-property relationships across a broad range of epoxy system types and curing agent chemistries
- Stay at the forefront of epoxy industry developments — monitoring emerging technologies, alternative chemistry platforms, and evolving market trends to identify and evaluate new directions for Kemipex’s product innovation and formulation development programmes
- Research and develop new epoxy hardener formulations — including polyamine, polyamide, cycloaliphatic amine, phenalkamine, and anhydride-based systems — exploring alternative chemistries for innovative and differentiated product applications
- Identify and evaluate novel raw materials, reactive diluents, and functional additives that can extend the performance envelope of Kemipex’s epoxy hardener and coating product portfolio — bringing technically credible innovation recommendations to the formulation development pipeline
Epoxy Formulation & Product Development
- Design, formulate, and optimise complete epoxy systems — including liquid epoxy resins (LER), solid epoxy resins, reactive diluents, and a comprehensive range of curing agents — tailored for high-performance applications in paints, protective coatings, adhesives, and industrial chemical products
- Translate customer performance requirements into precisely engineered formulations — interpreting application specifications, substrate requirements, curing conditions, and service environment demands to define the right formulation approach for each customer challenge
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and well-organised formulation records — documenting all experiments, raw material specifications, formulation batches, test results, and development decisions in a structured laboratory notebook or electronic record management system

Production Supervision & Manufacturing Excellence
- Supervise epoxy hardener manufacturing operations — overseeing production batches from raw material charging through reaction, processing, and finished product packaging, ensuring consistency between laboratory formulation and production-scale output
- Lead and mentor production operators and technicians — providing hands-on technical guidance, process training, and safety supervision to build a competent, safety-conscious, and quality-focused manufacturing team

Quality Control Testing & Analytical Chemistry

- Conduct and accurately interpret Pot Life and Gel Time tests — characterising the curing kinetics and practical working life of epoxy formulations to verify compliance with application performance requirements
- Measure and report Amine Value — quantifying the reactive amine functionality of hardener systems to confirm stoichiometric compatibility with epoxy resins and validate formulation composition
- Determine Epoxy Equivalent Weight (EEW) — accurately quantifying the epoxy group concentration in resin systems to ensure correct resin-hardener ratio recommendations for customers and end-users
- Test Free Epichlorohydrin (ECH) content — monitoring residual ECH levels in epoxy resins for safety, environmental compliance, and product specification adherence
- Measure Gardner Color, viscosity, density, Shore D hardness, and adhesion pull-off strength — providing the full complement of product characterisation data needed for technical data sheet generation and customer qualification
Technical Support, Data Sheets & Customer Solutions
