Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the full range of clinical microbiology diagnostic services — including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing for the private hospital’s patient population
- Review, interpret, and validate microbiological test results — providing clinically accurate, timely, and actionable reports to treating physicians and infectious disease specialists
- Ensure all laboratory diagnostic processes meet the highest standards of accuracy, reproducibility, and clinical relevance across all microbiology testing areas
- Maintain and continuously improve laboratory quality assurance processes, proficiency testing participation, and accreditation readiness across all microbiology diagnostic services
Infection Prevention & Control Programme Support
- Support and actively contribute to the hospital’s infection prevention and control programme — providing specialist microbiology expertise to infection control committee discussions and decisions
- Investigate healthcare-associated infection (HAI) clusters and outbreaks — providing microbiological analysis, epidemiological support, and evidence-based containment recommendations

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) with specialist postgraduate qualification in Clinical Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, or Infectious Disease
- Board certification or fellowship in Clinical Microbiology from a recognized international medical authority (e.g., Royal College of Pathologists, ECDC, ABMM, or equivalent)

Experience Requirements
