The Supply Chain Specialist / Operativer Einkäufer at ZYTOMICS Bremerhaven plays a central operational and strategic role within the company’s global supply chain team — covering the procurement of traded goods including import management, supplier management, and claims handling; ensuring material availability across all relevant warehouse locations; managing daily operations with internal manufacturing and external suppliers to improve delivery performance; collaborating cross-functionally with Production, Logistics, Product Management, and Sales; analyzing and monitoring supply chain KPIs; supporting and optimizing the S&OP process; driving continuous improvement in planning and control processes; and actively contributing to the development of efficient production and capacity planning as part of ZYTOMICS’ ERP transformation initiative.

Key Responsibilities
Operative Procurement — Traded Goods, Import & Supplier Management
- Manage the procurement of traded goods end-to-end — including import management, supplier coordination, delivery confirmation, and professional claims handling for quality or delivery deviations — ensuring all materials arrive on time and meet ZYTOMICS’ quality and specification requirements
- Conduct active supplier management across ZYTOMICS’ international supplier base — maintaining productive supplier relationships, managing performance against agreed delivery and quality KPIs, and proactively addressing supplier risks before they impact production or customer service
- Handle import processes efficiently — coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth and compliant clearance of imported goods into ZYTOMICS’ German operations
Material Availability & Delivery Performance Management
- Ensure material availability at all relevant warehouse locations — continuously balancing existing inventory levels, production requirements, supplier lead times, and demand forecasts to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock and tied-up capital
- Improve overall delivery performance through structured daily management of both internal manufacturing operations and external supplier deliveries — identifying and resolving delivery delays and bottlenecks proactively and effectively
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Logistics, Product Management, and Sales to align supply chain activities with operational priorities and commercial commitments — ensuring all stakeholders have accurate and timely material availability information
Supply Chain KPI Analysis & S&OP Process Support
- Analyze and monitor relevant supply chain KPIs — including delivery on-time performance, inventory levels, supplier performance metrics, and material availability — deriving actionable improvement measures and presenting findings clearly to the supply chain management team
- Support and optimize the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process at ZYTOMICS — contributing supply chain and procurement input to the S&OP cycle and helping to align production capacity with demand plans across ZYTOMICS’ four-country operations
- Drive continuous improvement in planning and control processes and data quality — identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements that make ZYTOMICS’ supply chain more reliable, transparent, and cost-effective
ERP Transformation — Key Interface Role
- Take an active role in shaping ZYTOMICS’ ERP system transformation — serving as a key interface between the supply chain function, production, and the ERP implementation project team to ensure supply chain requirements are correctly captured and effectively implemented in the new system
- Contribute to the development of efficient production and capacity planning processes within the new ERP environment — bringing operational supply chain expertise and process knowledge to the design and testing of ERP workflows and master data structures
- Support ERP change management — helping to validate system configurations, conduct user acceptance testing, document new processes, and train colleagues on supply chain-related ERP functionality as the implementation progresses
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed kaufmännische Ausbildung — e.g. Industriekaufmann/-frau, Kaufmann/-frau für Groß- und Außenhandelsmanagement, or Fachwirt in Logistics — or a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), or a comparable qualification
Experience Requirements
- Several years of experience in operative procurement, materials management, production planning, or supply chain management in a manufacturing company — with direct responsibility for supplier management, material availability, and delivery performance improvement
