Position Overview
This Supply Chain Specialist position at Vantage Towers in Düsseldorf is a full-time role embedded within the company’s telecom infrastructure operations team. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving supplier offers, validating Bills of Materials for masts, antenna mounts, and power supply systems, and ensuring full consistency between BOMs, technical drawings, and ERP data in SAP. The role requires a strong technical understanding of telecom construction standards, hands-on ERP and PLM experience, and fluent German language skills. Key Responsibilities
Partner Offer Review & Approval
- Review and evaluate offers from partners for initial installation and active construction build-out projects
- Review and approve delivery notes, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies directly with partners
- Ensure all supplier documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with project specifications before approval
- Maintain a structured record of reviewed offers and approvals for audit and compliance purposes
Bill of Materials Validation
- Review and validate Bills of Materials for telecom infrastructure projects including masts, antenna mounts, and power supply systems
- Ensure full consistency between BOMs and technical drawings, product data sheets, and engineering specifications
- Reconcile BOM data against records held in the ERP and documentation system, primarily SAP
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical deliveries and documented material lists promptly
Material Optimisation & Standardisation
- Support the optimisation of material structures and Scope of Work (SoW) frameworks for standardisation and cost efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce material waste and streamline procurement processes
- Collaborate with technical and procurement teams to align material standards across all infrastructure projects
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through smarter material planning and supplier coordination
ERP & Systems Management
- Work extensively with SAP ERP and PLM systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date supply chain data
- Ensure system records reflect real-world material flows, delivery statuses, and project documentation
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to resolve data inconsistencies and improve system workflows
- Leverage ERP data insights to support reporting, forecasting, and supply chain performance monitoring
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry in a supply chain or technical role
- Proven experience working with ERP and PLM systems — SAP experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on experience reviewing and validating Bills of Materials in a technical environment
- Background in telecom infrastructure, construction project support, or materials management is a strong asset
Technical Skills
- Strong technical understanding of construction plans and static calculations for telecommunications systems
- Solid familiarity with technical standards and current legal frameworks in the telecommunications sector
- Excellent ability to read, interpret, and validate technical drawings, BOMs, and material flow documentation
- Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP — ideally with PLM module experience as well
Language Requirements
- Fluent written and spoken German is a mandatory requirement for this role
- Strong English communication skills are a significant advantage in this multicultural team environment
