Key Responsibilities
Telecom Testing & Commissioning Delivery
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to perform telecom system commissioning requirements — ensuring all activities meet contract specifications, quality standards, and UAE safety regulations
- Provide hands-on technical support for the installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom systems — taking ownership of assigned commissioning activities from initial setup through successful completion and sign-off
- Prepare and conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for telecom systems — obtaining required approvals from utilities and regulatory authorities for design and commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal Hitachi Energy regulations, procedures, and project-specific guidelines throughout every stage of testing and commissioning
Project Documentation & Quality Deliverables
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation within the defined scope of deliverables — including FAT and SAT test documentation, commissioning reports, technical specifications, and as-built records
- Create detailed work plans within the assigned area of responsibility — ensuring quality deliverables are completed on time and within targeted cost parameters across all telecom commissioning activities

Customer Engagement & Technical Support
- Assist customers with technical issues arising during telecom system commissioning — interacting professionally with official contacts, contractors, and other project staff within the defined scope of deliverables

- Collaborate with the supply chain function to ensure that technical requirements for telecom equipment and services are accurately communicated and formally agreed with potential suppliers and vendors

Your Background & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a relevant related field — preferred qualification for this position
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of professional experience as a design and commissioning engineer working specifically with SCMS (Substation Control and Monitoring Systems) and related telecom platforms
- Demonstrated practical experience with IED integration into SCMS/SCADA systems and Micro SCADA Pro control systems in energy infrastructure project environments
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge and deep practical understanding of GPRS systems across multiple industrial communication protocols — including IEC101, IEC103, IEC104, DNP3.0, IEC61850, MODBUS SCMS TCP/IP/Serial, and SPABUS communication standards
- PLC programming proficiency in accordance with IEC61131-3 — specifically Function Block Diagram (FBD) and Ladder Diagram (LD) using MultiProg ProConOS runtime systems
- Sound hands-on experience with IED integration into SCMS/SCADA and Micro SCADA Pro control systems — preferred for candidates at the mid-level or above
