Key Responsibilities
PCBA Test Procedure Design, Validation & Maintenance
- Develop, deliver, and maintain operator and maintenance work instructions and maintenance plans for PCBA and finished goods (FG) electronic test equipment processes — covering ICT, Flying Probe, and Functional test systems in Eaton’s Dubai production environment
- Design and validate PCBA and FG test procedures for New Product Introductions (NPI), PCBA transfers from other Eaton plants or EMS partners, and production line updates — ensuring all test processes meet Eaton quality standards and IPC-A610 Class 3 requirements
- Program and maintain Flying Probe equipment — specifically Takaya Flying Probe — developing accurate, reliable test programs that provide full coverage of PCBA defect detection at the required cycle time targets
- Ensure all PCBA test instructions and maintenance plans are updated in line with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs) within the required timelines
Failed PCBA Diagnosis, Repair Process Definition & Root Cause Analysis
- Provide expert technical support for failed PCBA and FG diagnosis after ICT, Flying Probe, and functional testing — applying structured electronic fault-finding techniques, electronic PCBA defect root cause analysis tools, and CI methodologies
- Define and document repair processes for failed PCBAs and finished goods to be applied in production — ensuring repairs comply with IPC-A610 Class 3 workmanship standards and Eaton quality requirements
- Track defect rates at FCT/ICT test process steps during pre-series and production phases using Pareto analysis — identifying systemic failure patterns, root causes, and targeted corrective actions
- Act as the production test process expert for quality crisis root cause analysis and corrective action plan definition — providing decisive technical guidance that restores production quality and prevents recurrence
Tester Maintenance, OEE Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Manage and realize level 2 and level 3 maintenance activities — including preventive maintenance programs and both internal and external equipment calibrations for all ICT, Flying Probe, and functional test equipment
- Analyze OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of testers in production per SKU — identifying improvement opportunities and defining structured Continuous Improvement plans for the Electronic Testing area
- Track maintenance performance indicators — MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) — and use these metrics to drive sustained improvement in test equipment availability and reliability
- Support production Continuous Improvement initiatives — including SMED, Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIE), and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) — to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize test cycle times
Industrialization Support & Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
- Support the Industrialization Program Manager in releasing ProLaunch Manufacturing deliverables — including Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, PPAP documentation, and related manufacturing quality gate requirements
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Test development engineering teams to influence PCB and PCBA design through DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews — ensuring that designs are optimized for testability and production efficiency
- Support Manufacturing Test development teams in implementing new test solutions in production — including MSA tests, cycle time confirmation, maintenance plan definition, and operator work instruction development
- Act as technical interlocutor for other Eaton plants and EMS partners for test in production — ensuring effective knowledge transfer, test procedure alignment, and quality standard consistency across the global Eaton manufacturing network
SAP/MES, CAPEX Planning & Customer Audit Support
- Support component and product engineers in SAP and MES setup for PCBA and FG test operation data establishment — ensuring accurate, reliable production data capture that supports quality monitoring and traceability
- Define CAPEX needs for production planning — identifying test equipment investments with clear ROI justification that improve productivity, capability, and capacity in the Electronic Testing area
