Key Responsibilities

Food Facility Inspections & Compliance Auditing

  • Conduct systematic and thorough inspections of food production, food processing, food storage, catering, and food retail facilities across Saudi Arabia — assessing compliance with applicable national food safety regulations, HACCP requirements, and international food safety standards
  • Evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of HACCP plans at inspected facilities — verifying that Critical Control Points are correctly identified, actively monitored, properly documented, and consistently maintained by facility management and staff
  • Assess food safety management system (FSMS) compliance at food facilities — reviewing documentation, records, procedures, and operational practices against ISO 22000 and applicable food safety regulatory requirements
  • Conduct systematic inspections of food facility physical conditions — including building structure, equipment cleanliness, pest control, waste management, temperature control systems, storage arrangements, and personal hygiene compliance

Non-Conformance Identification & Reporting

  • Identify and clearly document all food safety non-conformances, hygiene deficiencies, regulatory violations, and food safety risk factors observed during facility inspections — maintaining comprehensive and accurate inspection records for every visit
  • Prepare professional, structured inspection reports following each facility visit — documenting all findings, non-conformances, recommendations, and required corrective actions in clear and precise written English for review by food safety management and regulatory authorities
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to facility management teams — explaining the nature of identified non-conformances, the associated food safety risks, and the corrective actions required to achieve compliance
  • Track the status of corrective actions required following previous inspections — conducting follow-up assessments to verify that identified non-conformances have been effectively resolved and that food safety standards have been restored

Food Safety Standards Assessment & Documentation

  • Verify compliance with food labelling, date coding, allergen declaration, and traceability requirements at inspected food production and retail facilities — ensuring all products meet Saudi Arabian food regulatory standards
  • Assess sanitation, cleaning, and disinfection programs at food facilities — evaluating their design, frequency, documentation, and actual effectiveness in maintaining the hygiene standards required for safe food production and handling
  • Review and assess food safety training records, staff certification documentation, and food handler hygiene compliance at inspected facilities — verifying that all food handling personnel meet required training and certification standards
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate inspection records, site visit logs, finding reports, and corrective action tracking documentation in full compliance with the organization’s inspection management procedures and regulatory reporting requirements
