Your Responsibilities in Detail
Delivery, Setup & Collection
- Deliver and professionally set up buffets and catering arrangements at customer locations and event venues across Bergisch Gladbach, Cologne, and the wider NRW region — ensuring every setup meets Schmitz Catering’s high presentation standards.
- After each event, carry out the punctual and careful collection of buffets, equipment, and all materials from event venues — ensuring everything is returned to the warehouse in good condition and accounted for.
- Handle all food, catering equipment, and company vehicles with the utmost care and responsibility — reflecting Schmitz Catering’s commitment to quality at every stage of the logistics process.
Warehouse Operations & Order Picking
- Prepare and carry out the picking and commissioning of orders in the warehouse — accurately assembling food, accessories, and catering equipment for each event booking in accordance with order specifications.
- Ensure all orders are fully and correctly prepared ahead of scheduled delivery times — double-checking quantities, product quality, and equipment condition before loading for transport.
Tour Planning & Logistics Coordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple delivery tours and routes in close coordination with the Schmitz Catering logistics team — optimizing efficiency, punctuality, and resource utilization across all scheduled deliveries.
- Adapt tour plans flexibly to changing event schedules, last-minute bookings, or unexpected logistical challenges — maintaining service reliability under pressure during peak periods.
Documentation & Transport Records
- Create accurate and complete delivery notes and maintain all transport documents for every delivery — ensuring full traceability and compliance with internal logistics records requirements.
- Maintain structured, up-to-date documentation for all outgoing and returning goods — supporting inventory management and quality control within the logistics operation.
Your Profile — What We Are Looking For
Experience & License
- Professional experience in logistics, catering, or event service is an advantage — candidates with relevant background in food delivery, event setup, or warehouse operations will be preferred
- Driver’s License Class B — required; Class C1 is additionally desirable for driving larger delivery vehicles when needed
- Familiarity with route planning, delivery coordination, and transport documentation from previous logistics or service roles
