Position Overview
The Crop Consultant role at Nutrien Ag Solutions in Galesville, Wisconsin is a full-time, field-based sales and agronomy consulting position. The successful candidate will develop new grower prospects, manage relationships with existing customers, and increase agricultural input sales to meet and exceed territory targets — all while providing genuine agronomic consulting on crop issues, product selection, and sustainable solutions. Key Responsibilities
Sales Development & Grower Relationships
- Develop new prospects and interact with existing growers to increase agricultural input sales, meeting and exceeding established sales goals
- Manage sales activities to consistently meet profit margin goals within the assigned territory
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the sales of proprietary products including Loveland Products, Proven® Seed, and Dyna-Gro® Seed
Agronomic Consulting & Issue Resolution
- Consult with growers on a wide range of agricultural issues and prescribe appropriate, evidence-based actions to resolve crop challenges
- Resolve issues associated with adverse product results, working closely with growers to protect their investment and crop outcomes
- Assure customer satisfaction including on-time and accurate delivery and consistent quality of all products supplied
Credit Management & Accounts Receivable
- Perform initial credit review of customers to assess credit risk and provide necessary information to the Credit Manager for setting credit limits
- Collect outstanding accounts receivables from customers as required, maintaining financial health within the territory
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational & Experience Requirements
- University degree is preferred — ideally in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
- In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of agriculture industry experience with a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted
- 2+ years of experience applying standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the agriculture industry, including the application of agricultural chemicals
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and related tools for territory management and reporting
- Sales experience is preferred — candidates with a track record of agricultural input or related sales will stand out
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective grower relationship building and team collaboration
