Position Overview
This Area Supervisor role at The Mosaic Company’s Riverview, Florida facility is a full-time, on-site industrial operations supervisory position responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient continuous operation of the assigned production area. You will manage and execute the daily operations schedule, delegating tasks appropriately to your team and holding individuals accountable to short-term, defined KPIs. You will communicate the daily operational plan to the production supervisor, manage compliance with EHS Management System (EHS MS) programmes and business unit initiatives, oversee the department’s employee training programme, and actively coach and develop team members to build organisational capability and support individual career growth. The role requires five or more years of related experience, proficiency with Maximo, Kronos, and OIS systems, and a High School diploma or GED as a minimum — with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management & KPI Accountability
- Manage and execute the daily operations schedule for the assigned production area — appropriately delegating tasks to team members and holding each person accountable to their defined role and short-term KPIs
- Communicate the daily operational plan clearly and proactively to the production supervisor — providing routine updates and progress reports at the appropriate organizational level throughout each shift
- Monitor operational performance against defined KPIs on a continuous basis — identifying deviations early, escalating where necessary, and taking corrective action to protect production targets and safety standards
- Possess a deep, department-specific understanding of the production processes and equipment under your supervision — articulating how processes work clearly enough to teach and coach your assigned team members
EHS Management System Compliance
- Manage and comply with all established EHS Management System (EHS MS) programmes — ensuring that every member of the team operates in full compliance with Mosaic’s environmental, health, and safety requirements at all times
- Support business unit EHS initiatives and other department administrative requirements — actively contributing to a safety-first culture where environmental responsibility is embedded in daily operational behaviour
- Conduct regular safety observations, EHS compliance checks, and corrective action follow-up across the production area — maintaining Mosaic’s high standards for safe and environmentally sound operations
- Ensure that all safety incidents, near misses, and environmental observations are reported, documented, and addressed promptly and in accordance with Mosaic’s EHS MS protocols
Employee Training & Development Oversight
- Oversee the department’s employee training programme — ensuring all team members meet their training currency requirements as identified in company policies and that no training obligations are overdue
- Provide clear, timely, and constructive work direction and performance feedback to team members — ensuring every employee has a clear understanding of their role, responsibilities, performance standards, and business goals
- Develop and coach employees actively and consistently — supporting their professional growth within the team and identifying opportunities for advancement to retain and grow Mosaic’s organizational talent

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement — a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred and will be seen as a meaningful competitive advantage
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the standard High School/GED plus 5+ years combination
Experience Requirements
- 5 or more years of related industrial or operations experience — with direct supervisory or team leadership exposure strongly preferred
- 1 or more years of experience in an industrial environment is preferred — candidates with phosphate, potash, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial backgrounds are particularly well-suited
- 1 or more years of experience with Maximo asset management, Kronos workforce management, and OIS (Objective Interface Systems) platforms
- 1 or more years of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for operational reporting, scheduling, and administrative tasks
