Key Responsibilities
Sales Development & Client Acquisition
- Prospect agricultural businesses with annual sales of $500K–$25MM+ for new loan and deposit opportunities
- Work proactively to achieve assigned personal sales goals through consistent business development activities
- Use a consultative selling approach — pre-call planning, needs assessment, feature/benefit communication, objection handling, and closing
- Leverage centres of influence to build a strong network and maintain a healthy pipeline of new agricultural business
- Take an active role in the agriculture community through volunteering and attending industry events
Loan Origination & Credit Quality
- Evaluate agricultural loan requests for proper purpose, structure, and pricing to ensure they meet current loan standards
- Partner with support staff to ensure the loan origination process meets both bank and client expectations
- Seek guidance from senior lenders and executives to deliver the best possible loan terms for both the bank and the client
Portfolio Management
- Manage an active portfolio of agricultural customers professionally, maintaining relationships and monitoring credit quality to current loan standards
- Stay current on agricultural trends across agronomy, commodity markets, real estate, and farm financial health to assess portfolio risk
- Strive to meet or exceed portfolio targets by both strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones
- Manage delinquencies and ensure classified credits are identified promptly and referred to Special Assets when appropriate
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Agriculture, or a related discipline preferred — HS Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience also considered
- Minimum 5 years of commercial agricultural loan sales experience is required — this is a non-negotiable requirement
- Thorough knowledge of Loan Standards, Loan Review Administration, and Banking/OCC Procedures

- Very high level of written and verbal communication skills for effective client and internal stakeholder interaction
- Proven track record of successful sales performance with strong business development and client relationship skills
- Very high level of sales, negotiation, and financial analysis capabilities
