The Accounts Manager in Dubai is a comprehensive finance leadership role covering every dimension of corporate accounting and financial management. You will oversee the Finance Department’s business plan, review all financial and accounting transactions for accuracy, manage the Focus ERP accounting system, handle supplier and service provider accounts, control inventory, prepare monthly and annual financial reports, manage banking relationships, maintain the fixed asset register, and supervise cash management activities. Key Responsibilities

Finance Department Management & Business Planning

  • Participate in preparing, supervising, and implementing the Finance Department’s business plan — aligning departmental activities with overall company strategies and policies
  • Define job descriptions for finance staff, obtain management approvals, and promote a collaborative, high-performing team culture within the department
  • Direct finance department activities effectively — coordinating with other departments to ensure timely, accurate financial information flows across the business
  • Review all financial and accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation before approval and posting

Focus ERP Accounting System Management

  • Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the Focus ERP accounting system — ensuring it reliably supports all finance department operations and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with the Focus ERP software provider regarding system enhancements, bug fixes, and capability improvements aligned with business needs
  • Train users on the Focus ERP system as required — ensuring all finance and relevant staff can operate the system efficiently and correctly
  • Manage user access rights and permissions within Focus ERP — maintaining appropriate controls and data security across the accounting system

Supplier Accounts & Purchasing Records

  • Review supplier invoices and all supporting documentation — including customs and clearance documents — to verify accuracy before approving for payment processing
  • Coordinate the approval and timely payment of suppliers — maintaining strong supplier relationships and protecting the company’s trade credit standing
  • Maintain well-organised physical and electronic purchasing records — ensuring full auditability and traceability of all supplier transactions and approvals

Inventory Control & Fixed Asset Management

  • Supervise periodic inventory counts — ensuring accurate stock valuation and that inventory records in Focus ERP reflect actual physical stock at all times
  • Chair the annual inventory count committee — coordinating cross-departmental participation and ensuring the count is conducted completely and accurately
  • Maintain the fixed asset register in full — recording all additions, disposals, and depreciation accurately and in compliance with accounting policy
  • Supervise annual and special fixed asset counts — reconciling physical assets against register records and resolving discrepancies promptly

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for management — covering profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and key performance metrics
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and all accounting records — ensuring consistent, structured financial data management in Focus ERP
  • Maintain supporting schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, and other accounts — reconciling ledger balances with internal and external records regularly
  • Maintain a well-organised document archiving system — ensuring all financial records are stored, retrievable, and compliant with audit requirements

Cash, Banking & Financial Relationships

  • Supervise monthly cash counts and chair the year-end cash count committee — ensuring company cash balances are accurately verified and recorded
  • Manage company cash balances proactively — monitoring liquidity positions and flagging any cash flow concerns to management in a timely manner
  • Maintain productive, professional relationships with banks — providing required financial documentation and supporting banking facility development as directed by management
  • Support the development and enhancement of banking facilities — liaising with financial institutions on behalf of the company under management direction

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

  • Focus ERP system experience is mandatory — candidates without demonstrated Focus ERP accounting system experience cannot be considered for this role
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis — applied in a UAE or GCC corporate environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling capability — for report preparation, budget development, and management analysis

Education & Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field — required for this accounts management position
