Position Overview
This Agriculture Loan Officer role at GreenStone Farm Credit Services involves building strong customer relationships to grow the loan portfolio, gathering financial information and identifying customer needs, maintaining a comprehensive sales database, setting individual sales goals for loans and financial services, collaborating with tax, accounting, and insurance specialists, engaging actively in the local community, and analyzing moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests in line with GreenStone’s risk parameters.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Building
- Gather financial information from customers and listen attentively to their needs
- Identify expressed and latent needs to provide tailored lending solutions
- Build strong, trust-based relationships to increase the loan portfolio
Sales & Business Development
- Maintain a comprehensive sales database recording customer interactions and transactions
- Establish ongoing prospecting plans to attract new customers and nurture existing relationships
- Develop and pursue individual sales goals for loans and financial services
Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Make joint sales calls with tax, accounting, insurance, or other specialists
- Differentiate GreenStone as the go-to organization for agricultural financial services
- Maintain a significant professional presence throughout the local community
Loan Analysis & Risk Management
- Analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests independently or with a Credit Analyst
- Ensure detailed, accurate, and timely analysis aligned with GreenStone’s risk parameters
- Support loan decisions that balance customer needs with sound credit practices
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry or equivalent experience in agriculture credit
- Relevant sales experience in agribusiness, farming, or a closely related industry considered
