Position Overview
This AI Agent Engineer role is a high-ownership, full-stack AI systems position at a growing Dubai tech company. You will implement agent logic, orchestration, and tools; build and tune production RAG pipelines from ingestion through re-ranking and evaluation; design optimized Postgres schemas with vector indexes; build test-generation and test-execution engines; and integrate deeply with Git, CI/CD, and internal services. You will own the reliability, latency, and cost of every system you ship.

Key Responsibilities
Agent Logic & Orchestration
- Implement agent logic, tools, and orchestration systems against a given architecture blueprint
- Build the test-generation and test-execution engine for the AI Code Pipeline end-to-end
- Integrate production AI agents with Git workflows, CI/CD systems, and internal company services
- Build evaluation harnesses, observability layers, and guardrails so agents are measurable and safe
RAG Pipeline Engineering
- Build and tune complete RAG pipelines: ingestion → embeddings → retrieval → re-ranking → evaluation
- Optimize retrieval quality, latency, and cost across the full pipeline at production load
- Implement chunking strategies, embedding model selection, and re-ranking approaches for accuracy
- Design evaluation frameworks to continuously measure and improve RAG pipeline performance
Data Layer & Postgres Optimization
- Design and optimize Postgres schemas, queries, and vector indexes (pgvector) for production workloads
- Build efficient data pipelines that power both agent tools and knowledge retrieval systems
- Own query performance, index tuning, and database reliability for AI-driven production services
- Implement cost-effective storage and retrieval patterns suited to LLM-integrated architectures
Production Engineering & Reliability
- Own the reliability, latency, and operational cost of every AI system and service you ship
- Build robust observability, monitoring, and alerting for production AI agent systems
- Write clean, typed, well-tested Python and participate actively and constructively in code review
- Automate software testing across unit, integration, functional, security, and performance layers
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering in Python — async, typing, packaging, performance, and clean maintainable code
- 1+ years of hands-on experience building LLM or agentic systems — tool use, function calling, orchestration, prompting, and evaluation
- Solid Postgres experience: schema design, query optimization, and pgvector extension for vector search
- 6+ months of demonstrated experience building production workflows with Claude Code
Technical Skills
- Strong problem-solving and debugging ability on ambiguous, real-world production engineering challenges
- Experience shipping and operating production services — testing, CI/CD, observability, on-call mindset
- Comfort with Git-based workflows, branch management, and collaborative code review practices
- Experience automating software testing: unit, integration, functional, security, and performance testing
- Experience integrating with developer tooling and CI/CD systems in production engineering environments
