Position Overview
This Field Agronomist role at GDM Seeds drives local product and agronomic excellence across Central Kansas. You will train sales teams, provide hands-on product support, collaborate with the Area Sales Manager (ASM) on team strategy, partner with brand product managers and technical product specialists, coordinate demand forecasting, design and run plot strategy for product characterization, and analyze agronomic data to guide placement decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Agronomic Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Support local product and agronomic knowledge transfer through a tailored training plan
- Implement training programs designed around regional and local sales team needs
- Resolve product performance concerns raised by growers and dealers
Sales & Strategy Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Area Sales Manager (ASM) to build and execute team strategy
- Partner with brand product managers and technical product specialists on regional needs
- Coordinate with demand managers and the ASM to ensure forecast accuracy
Plot Strategy & Data Analysis
- Create and implement plot strategy to support sales and product characterization
- Analyze harvest and agronomic data to refine product placement and management
- Implement the agronomy digital communication strategy across the territory
Customer & Market Relationships
- Maintain strong relationships with growers, dealers, and sales partners
- Communicate regional market and portfolio needs back to brand teams
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in the field
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related agricultural field
- Master’s degree preferred for candidates seeking advanced standing
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of agronomy or related agricultural experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid background in agriculture and/or agronomy
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company MVR and CMV requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors throughout the growing season, including walking fields
- Some overnight travel required, approximately 15–20%
