 Position Overview

The Food Inspector at the Aramco GCP Camp in Jafurah plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the entire project workforce. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of all restaurant and catering facilities within the camp, enforcing full compliance with Saudi food safety laws, HACCP standards, and strict hygiene and sanitation regulations. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring sharp attention to detail, strong knowledge of food safety management systems, and the authority and confidence to issue corrective actions, warnings, or closure recommendations when standards are not being met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document inspection findings accurately and prepare detailed reports for management and compliance records
  • Schedule and perform both routine and unannounced inspections to maintain continuous food safety compliance

Food Safety & HACCP Compliance Enforcement

  • Ensure strict compliance with Saudi food safety laws, HACCP standards, sanitation requirements, and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Monitor and verify that all HACCP critical control points (CCPs) are correctly identified, managed, and documented
  • Verify that food safety management systems are properly implemented and consistently followed across all catering operations
  • Enforce compliance with SFDA food safety regulations and international food hygiene standards applicable to camp catering

Food Preparation, Storage & Transportation Inspection

  • Inspect all food preparation processes to ensure safe handling, correct temperatures, and hygienic practices are maintained
  • Examine food storage conditions including temperature controls, labelling, FIFO/FEFO practices, and cross-contamination prevention
  • Assess food transportation methods to ensure product integrity and food safety are maintained throughout the supply chain
  • Review waste disposal practices and ensure they comply with food safety regulations and camp environmental standards

Identifying Unsafe Products & Corrective Actions

  • Identify unsafe, contaminated, or non-compliant food products and immediately recommend or enforce appropriate corrective actions
  • Investigate the root causes of food safety violations and work with catering management to implement lasting improvements
  • Monitor corrective action completion and verify that identified food safety issues have been fully and effectively resolved

Enforcement & Regulatory Action

  • Issue formal warnings and corrective action notices to catering facilities failing to meet required food safety standards
  • Recommend fines or facility closure to project management when serious or repeated food safety violations are identified
  • Maintain detailed enforcement records and ensure all regulatory actions are properly documented and followed up
  • Liaise with Aramco project management and relevant authorities on food safety compliance matters and inspection outcomes

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Public Health, Nutrition, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field
  • Academic background must provide a strong technical foundation in food safety, food hygiene, and public health principles

Experience Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Food and Beverage operations, food safety inspection, or catering quality control
  • Hands-on practical experience with HACCP implementation, food safety audits, and sanitation inspections in F&B environments

Certification

  • HACCP Certification is an absolute requirement — candidates without valid HACCP certification will not be considered
