Position Overview
This Laboratory Analyst position at Nestlé Dubai is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analytical scientist to apply and develop advanced laboratory skills within a world-class, ISO/IEC 17025-accredited food and nutrition analytical environment. You will perform chemical and nutritional analyses on a diverse range of food and beverage products, operating sophisticated analytical instruments including HPLC, GC-FID, and ICP-OES. Accuracy, compliance, and meticulous documentation are at the core of this role — as is the ability to identify and escalate technical issues, support laboratory audits, and contribute to the continuous improvement culture that defines Nestlé’s global laboratory operations. This is the ideal role for a precise, diligent, and technically accomplished analytical chemist or food scientist with 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience.
Why This Role Matters: As Laboratory Analyst at Nestlé Dubai, your analytical work sits at the very foundation of Nestlé’s quality assurance and consumer safety guarantee. Every HPLC result you verify, every nutritional analysis you complete, and every data record you maintain contributes directly to ensuring that Nestlé products — consumed by millions of people across the UAE and the Middle East — meet the highest quality, nutritional accuracy, and food safety standards. In a globally accredited laboratory where precision is non-negotiable, your expertise and diligence genuinely protect the consumers who trust Nestlé every day.
Key Responsibilities
Chemical & Nutritional Analysis
- Perform comprehensive chemical and nutritional analyses in strict accordance with Nestlé’s established instructions, approved guidelines, and validated laboratory methods across all assigned analytical parameters.
- Operate a range of advanced analytical instruments — including HPLC, GC-FID, and ICP-OES — conducting routine and specialised testing with precision, care, and full adherence to method specifications.
- Verify all analytical results rigorously against defined quality control criteria — ensuring that test results are only reported and released when all QC requirements and acceptance criteria are fully satisfied.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate any analytical, technical, or operational issues to the NQAC Laboratory Supervisor promptly and professionally — maintaining transparency and technical integrity at all times.
Data Recording, Documentation & Quality Compliance
- Accurately record, review, and update all analytical data and associated laboratory documentation in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) — maintaining complete traceability and data integrity at all times.
- Ensure full and consistent compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), laboratory safety requirements, 5S workplace organisation principles, and all applicable quality management standards.
- Maintain all laboratory records, analytical worksheets, quality control charts, and instrument logbooks in a complete, accurate, and audit-ready condition at all times.
- Prepare and submit analytical reports and data summaries in a clear, structured, and timely manner — ensuring all results are communicated accurately to the Laboratory Supervisor and relevant stakeholders.
Audit Support & Laboratory Compliance
- Support laboratory audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining proper, complete, and well-organised records and documentation that demonstrate full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
- Actively participate in internal and external audit activities — responding professionally to auditor queries, demonstrating method competency, and providing requested documentation promptly and accurately.
- Apply strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 in practice — understanding its requirements for method validation, measurement uncertainty, quality control, and auditor interaction within a food analytical laboratory.
- Contribute to laboratory quality system maintenance — supporting SOP reviews, method verification activities, and corrective action implementation as required by the quality management system.
Instrument Operation & Troubleshooting
- Operate all assigned analytical instruments safely, efficiently, and in full accordance with manufacturer specifications, laboratory SOPs, and Nestlé method requirements.
- Perform routine instrument checks, calibrations, and performance verification activities — maintaining instruments in optimal working condition and documenting all maintenance activities accurately.
- Identify and troubleshoot instrument performance issues, analytical anomalies, or method deviations — applying technical knowledge to diagnose problems and escalate unresolved issues to the Laboratory Supervisor.
- Assist in the evaluation and validation of new analytical methods and instruments — contributing to method development activities and validation studies as directed by laboratory management.
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Nestlé Dubai laboratory — identifying opportunities to enhance analytical efficiency, data quality, and laboratory workflow performance.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with fellow laboratory analysts, technicians, and supervisors — sharing analytical insights, troubleshooting challenges together, and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Apply statistical method control knowledge to monitor analytical performance, identify trends, and flag potential issues proactively before they affect data quality or product release decisions.
- Follow all Nestlé laboratory instructions, SOPs, and safety protocols with precision and consistency — demonstrating the high level of personal accountability and quality ownership that Nestlé’s laboratory standards demand.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline — a mandatory requirement for this Laboratory Analyst position at Nestlé Dubai.
- Additional postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in analytical chemistry, food science, or laboratory quality management are a valued and welcomed competitive advantage.
